It's actually kind of an interesting but brief article dealing with domestication differences between cat vs dog.. but I just really like the headline.
Also the fact that the Japanese needed to spend money to confirm this.

Just confirms cats are douchbags.

Advancement in the quest for a safe, effective, and reversible male contraceptive pill:
Quote:
The pill works by genetically deleting two proteins (alpha1A-adrenoceptor and P2X1-purinoceptor) which in turn blocks sperm cells from being ejaculated during intercourse.
Removing the proteins in genetically engineered mice resulted in male animals that were completely infertile, but continued to mate normally.
“This bypasses perhaps the greatest stumbling block in the quest for a socially acceptable male contraceptive,” the scientists wrote.
The mice appeared normal and did not suffer any side effects that would make such a treatment impossible for use on humans. They were also able to father normal offspring, when their sperm was extracted straight from the testes and injected into female eggs.
The researchers said that there is a potential for an orally administered drug to be developed that's effects would be reversed once stopped.

Simulations back up theory that the universe is like a hologram
http://www.nature.com/news/simulatio...logram-1.14328
Hologram does not mean Holodeck. It is essentially means that you can explain 10-dimensional string theory in 1 dimension.
My head hurts now.

I ma not smart, but from waht I gather they compared the energy that you would get from a black hole in a 10 dimensional string theory world to the energy you would get in a "lower" dimensional world with no gravity and they matched.
You would think that there would be differences in energy between these two different worlds, but they found otherwise, thus jumping to the conclusion that the same could be true for our world. All the energy in our wold could possibly consist in a lower dimensional world.

Keep dumming. Dumb it to a level where dumming is a legitimate word.

black hole in 10 dimensions = X energy
black hole in 1 dimension with no gravity = X energy
The energy amount is the same in both "worlds".
If our world turns out to be a 10 dimensional string theory world = Y energy
Our world in 1 dimension with no gravity = Y energy
Therefore we could actually be living in a 1 dimensional world with no gravity that looks like a 10 dimensional world.
I think...

Close, but they aren't saying that our world can be described by a lower dimensional world, they are saying our world would be the simplified one. They managed to map 8 dimensions down to one successfully, so the challenge would be to map the 10 dimensions of string theory down to our familiar three (excluding time). Showing that you can make 8=1 means it is, in principle, possibly to go 10=3.

Trap Doors in Time and Space: Teleportation, Time Travel, and Escape from Black Holes
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/physics...m-black-holes/
Luckily for you and me, these are good days for teleporting out of here, traveling through time, and escaping from black holes. Hard as it is to bend our minds about such non-standard forms of transportation, the laws of physics allow and even encourage them. The secret lies in a feature of quantum mechanics called entanglement. Two quantum systems are said to be entangled when they have more information about each other than they can have classically: they "know" more about each other than they have any right to know. Entangled systems possess a kind of quantum intimacy that goes beyond anything that is allowed by the classical laws of physics.
