Considering he got a wildcard to IW last year and was way further off the map, he should surely get one this year as one of the hottest commodities out there.

How silly that Miami has already taken their rankings nearly a month prior to the event....I'd like to see this standardized to 2 weeks prior for every event as a nice middle ground.

Not to mention, with all the Canadians down there having him as a wildcard definitely would sell a few tickets.

Felix comes from behind to beat Cuevas in Sao Paulo 5-7, 6-3, 6-3. Never easy beating the same guy twice in less than a week.

I just caught the last 15 minutes of the match- Impressive serving from Felix combined with some solid ground strokes.

not to get ahead of ourselves, but let's totally get ahead of ourselves. will FAA eventually be the first North American to do real damage at the French Open since Agassi?

I've been hyped for this kid for a long time, but this past week it's gone into overdrive. the easy power he can generate from that still immature frame is drool worthy. and he's got the patience to actually do some point construction, unless most of the other big hitters his age.

now with that heart condition out of the way, there is no ceiling on Felix's potential. lots of stuff in his development still has to go right, but if it does then we could be looking at the very first Canadian grand slam singles champion.

Kyrgios beats Nadal is a great match, had a similar feel to that Kyrgios-Federer match in Miami a few years ago, Kyrgios saves three match points at 3-6 in the third set breaker to win 8-6. As usual Nick brings his best when it's the big boys and his worst otherwise. He should just tank his tank ranking to have the hardest path possible to a major, maybe then he might actually do it.

Kyrgios might not make it out of Acapulco alive, that crowd was just shy of getting out the torches and pitchforks.

That's the frustrating thing isn't it, he has the talent to beat anybody in the game, but it's quite rare that the effort level matches the talent level.

That was a great match last night, although I didnt like the outcome. Still have to hand it to Kyrios he played great when he felt like it lol. I feel like Nadal needs to improve his break point play, it cost him IMO a Wimbledon title last year and last night. He missed 9 BP's and in a bunch of them he didnt even get the ball back into play off the serve. Same thing happened against Djoker in Wimbledon and it's not like Novak serves like Milos.

welcome to Club Federer, where endless break point chances are created but just wither and die on the vine. for these older guys, the clutch in key situations seems to be the thing that erodes the quickest.

I don't think that match would have been nearly as entertaining if anyone else was playing Nadal last night. He's a one of a kind but certainly provides entertainment when he decides he wants to turn it on.

FAA and Laslo Djere are on a collision course in Sao Paulo - If Felix can win his match against Ramos-Vinolas and Djere do the same vs. Jaziri, it was be a re-match of the Rio final in Sao Paulo in one of the quarter-finals.

Just watching the FAA - ARV match - Felix is playing some fine tennis today and just went up a break now serving at 3-1 in the opening set.

Felix was up 5-2 in this opening set (just one break) and now we're going to a tie-breaker.

Edit: Felix takes the tie-breaker by a 7-2 score

I think what I'm most impressed with in this run is his actual fitness level. He's played a lot recently but he's only looked sluggish in the final on Sunday which may have been nerves too.

Ruh Roh, Felix just turned an ankle, trainer has been called.

Edit: Felix patched up and back playing.

Second set going to a tie-breaker just like the first.
