No idea what to expect tonight.

Rittich's 3rd start in 4 days. To say that he had to work hard in those two games - including last night - is a huge understatement. Hope he isn't too worn out.

As for the Flames, I don't know if they are more resolved or less after that loss yesterday. From just about winning it and embarrassing the Leafs on a historical level, to losing it in a blink of an eye. Hopefully they have the energy for this game.

I am sure Ottawa is feeling a bit better of late, and they see the Flames coming in as a team near the bottom of the standings and coming off a tough game. I am sure they will come out hard right away.

Lose this one, and the heat on the organization turns up a few notches. This should be an 'easy gimmie' for the Flames - as much of a gimmie as there can be in the NHL really - but Ottawa is definitely going to want this game too, and I wouldn't be surprised if this was another first period in which we see the opposing team dictate the game.

Flames 3-2.

Actually Flames hockey has not been fun at all this season. I feel for opposition fans that have to watch the Flames multiple times a week with this schedule as it's not entertaining hockey at all. The only reason I'm still watching is because I'm a sucker for punishment.

Low expectations. I'm keeping this mantra from here on out. It really alleviates frustration and allows me to focus on seeing bright spots.

I'm honestly so incredibly weary of all the negativity as it's affecting the joy of watching hockey. If they sucl as a group they suck, so be it. But I'm gonna cheer for the bright spots and not give in to this growing frenzy of negativity.

I want more of what Kyl8ngt9n did yesterday. I want more of Lindholm being a total 200ft player. I want more of great goaltending. I want more of Hanifin and Tanev being great. I want more stellar work on the PK.

If we get something more positive from the offense I want that too.

This Ottawa team is the team that just got Claude Julien fired.

Can they get another coach fired, a second game in a row? Or will that happen at the end of this mini-series vs Calgary?

he hasn't spent enough time with the main roster for Ward to lock down that creativity and freewheeling yet. give it a few games and he'll be as conservative and timid as the rest of the squad.

Geoff Ward is not getting fired in his first full season behind the bench by a team that has fired three coaches in the last six years.

Rittich looks fresh until Eric Francis starts speaking

Johnny is going to put one over the goalie’s shoulder today

Go Flames

Nope, his boss is getting canned instead.

If he is (I would be surprised), then that is not happening mid-season either.

I just hope someone gets fired to freshen up the conversation around here.

Don't really care who, to be honest.

The Flames have 8 even strength goals in their last 7 games. The Senators should be just what the doctor ordered.

But I bet it isn't.

Which says that our GM has massively failed in this area.

I think the Flames being their A game through most of this series. They have to know this is truly a make or break point where they should win if they give top effort every game. We know Ottawa is going to work so the Flames need to match that. I do feel they have played with decent desperation in the 2 games this week. That needs to continue

Which means Ward gets canned in the summer when a new GM takes over.
