Default Jessica Walter (Arrested Development, Archer) has died at 80

https://deadline.com/2021/03/jessica...nt-1234721873/

Quote:
Jessica Walter, the award-winning actress whose career spanned five decades, passed away in her sleep at home in New York City on Wednesday, March 24. She was 80.

Walter’s career included everything from a standout turn in Clint Eastwood’s directorial debut, Play Misty for Me, to The Flamingo Kid and her Emmy-nominated turns on Trapper John M..D. and Streets of San Francisco. For her performance as Lucille Bluth in Arrested Development, Walter earned yet another Emmy nomination (Outstanding Supporting Actress) and two SAG nominations.

Walter won an Emmy starring in Amy Prentiss, an Ironside spinoff in the mid-1970s about a young San Francisco police detective. She also voiced Malory Archer on FXX’s animated series Archer.

She was the funniest part of that show.

Thinking about Archer Season 11 and 12. Not sure where Archer S12 is in their development, but it will be emotional if they can tie this in, even more so after they showed in Season 11 -
Spoiler!

I actually just finished watching a somewhat recent interview with her, and she credits this as her favourite funny line the AD writers ever gave her.

That was sad to learn about her passing just now, glad she went peacefully at least. RIP

What a shame. She was fantastic on AD.

Oh man, I really loved her delivery and out of nowhere humor. She was really the glue that held Archer together. I almost don't want Archer to continue without her, it won't be half the show.

“Immigrants! That’s how they do, you know—just drive around listening to raps and shooting all the jobs.”

“So, once again you’re left with the classic Irishman’s dilemma: Do I eat the potato now, or do I let it ferment so I can drink it later?”

I named my wireless SSID is Mother because of her characters in both Arrested Development and Archer.
