Well, if we are now going with Ron Maclean "right of way" rule, then he certainly has a point.

Connor McDavid does strike me as a crappy guy to play with: always hogs the puck; won't leave the ice at tbd end of a shift; cherry-picks at the line and is slow to get back; dives and whines at tbe referrees,; and then pulls off garbage like this from time to time.

He is great at playing hockey, but he sure doesn't seem like a guy who inspires much from his teammates.

And in terms of marketability, he certainly doesn't do much for the sport of hockey. Not as far as generational talents go.

Crosby and Gretzky were much better faces for the sport.

The guy is a menace, throw the book at him.

Seriously though. That elbow is some BS. Any other player does that and it's definitely being reviewed by player safety.

Anyone does that to McDavid, and Oilers fans would burn down the city.

I assume I'll be seeing a lot of:

1) clearly that's embellishment, McDavid never even touched him
2) No way he even hit him in the head, that's clearly shoulder to shoulder

So the leagues a joke. "We want to get rid of head shots" they scream. "We're serious about player safety" They rumble "Look out wroom wroom, player safety is all over this". Oh its Connor, here's a nothing find.

In the next game the habs play, one of their players should pummel the guy.

If that had been MT it would have been 10 games. But its ok for People like Connor to pull off a massive cheap shot. Oiler fans whine about referee conspiracies constantly. But McDavid never gets called for his 3 or 4 dives a game, and stuff like this.

Oh and if you have a team with Connor as the Captain, you're not going to win anything significant unless you have a good leadership group propping him up. Connor's in it for Connor, and when things are going well, he's all good, when things go badly he's mr pouty face, whiny man Mr Hardy Har Har

Not surprised he was fined because he literally meant to elbow someone in the head, while Khaira was trying to hit a player who brought his head down.

But you'd think that would be a game or two because of the intent.

Imagine if Tkachuk did that?

So if Bennett does that to McDavid the next time these two meet it would be interesting to see if he was to get only a $5k fine. I know Oilers fans and media would be out for blood.

I forgot that Mcavi is a repeat offender. And for an elbow no less. You’d think the media would make mention of that. But nope, last night on Sportsnet Ken Reid even mentioned how he loved that play by Mcavi to make his presence known. Just disgusting the favouritism for that ###### bag.

If his previous cheap shot elbow got him 2 games, this one should net him 3. Then 5. Then 10 etc. You know, to actually try and deter him from doing it again. Because if there is one thing Mcavi values more than anything are his Mcpoints. And you can’t get Mcpoints if your aren’t playing.

i was texting back and forth with a buddy of mine that's an oilers fan last night about exactly this - that everyone would be fine if someone did that to mcavi.
his first reply tried to deflect and change the subject so i asked again.
his second reply again tried to change the subject.
so i asked a third time and he came back with "well i';m not a ref so i'm not sure what that call should be"
