I'm so afraid this link will die one day, I actually downloaded it to my iTunes library about 5 years ago. It's a pretty big library, but once every few months or so while random is selected.... I'll go from Holy Diver by Ronnie James Dio, to the greatest gift ever bestowed on Calgary Puck, and one that's gotten more mileage than Voyager 2.
https://soundcloud.com/ignitedsoul13...-edmonton-mike
It never disappoints, I've never skipped ahead, and it's never lost relevance. I listen to it with dignity and give it the respect it deserves, no matter the mood. "Yes dear, I know it's Valentines Day, just listen to the man with the booming voice talking about filth...."
Igniotedsoul13, deserves a special honour from this board, for planting a digital time capsule a decade ago. When the stars fade into dead husks, black holes evaporate from Hawking Radiation, and the very fabric of our Universe tears apart from reaching the negative vacuum state trillions or quadrillions of years from now, trapped in all that atomic information will be a special arrangement of data that that captures the true essence of our foes. As time, space, and photons decay, the void will whisper.....
SWEAT PANTS WITH GOOD SHOES!
Oh, yeah, thanks to Mike Richards too.

It's abundantly obvious that Staples doesn't watch any other teams play. I'm willing to bet he doesn't even watch the teams that are currently playing the Oilers.

I wish I still had the link, but someone several years ago made a Steve Armitage insults-generator from Richards's radio hits. It was one of the best things of all time on the internet.

It's actually the Selkie Trophy.
For those who might not know, a selkie is a spirit in seal form that can shape-shift into a human. It can be captured by stealing its seal skin. Once captured, the selkie spends all its time pining to escape and return to the ocean.
The Selkie Trophy, of course, is awarded to the least useless player on the team that does the best imitation of the California Golden Seals. Extra points are awarded to a player who is visibly pining to escape.

Here's a lovely piece from Colton Pankiw, clearly explaining that Neal going on waivers further proves that the Oilers won the Neal/Lucic trade.

The level of delusion is truly astounding.
|
Wow. Between this and the McSelke article, what a ####ing goldmine of No Goodness.
Not that it should even need to be pointed out but Lucic is playing and contributing to recent wins. What is Neal doing that makes him superior in any way? He deflected in McSaucers off his ass for two months last year and since has been contending for the negative +/- title.
They're drinking their own urine up there.

We need to save that “why The Neal trade was a win for the oilers” article before it gets deleted.
It could provide epic comedy for years.

Have you read the hockey writers recently? Being on waivers makes players more valuable!

Mcdavid for the Selke is just fantastic. I hope he wins it for the sole purpose it will be the only trophy he wins other than the ones he already has. The Selke can be his Conn smyth!

Jesus Christ.
If McAvi wins the Selke trophy before Barkov does, I will absolutely stop watching the NHL. You can quote me on that and I will stick to it. I'm already borderline bored of the league as it is.

If there was a trophy for WORST defensive forward, McLottery would be the front runner.
Is there anyone credible claiming he is in the running for Selke?

The league isn't harping on McDavid, Oiler media are.
It's their standard schtick. McDavid gets criticized for not playing defense. So they think: let's start a buzz about how he should win the Selke!
Then, when people criticize his defense in the future, they can counter with "you mean the guy that was in the discussion for the Selke?"

It should be like, if McAvi wins the Selke, the rest of the players in the league should say, "please don't consider me as Selke candidate, because the trophy has lost it's meaning" the next time it comes up in conversation.
