At least they were boy's clothes.
Try wearing girls jeans to school, in a ####ty part of town.

You could take bets? A Child Violence ring?
I'd bet that could pull in more than dog fights.

For me and my brother, it was brand names. My parents couldn't afford to buy us brand name clothing. Club Monaco and Doc Martens were like all the rage during junior high. My mom used to buy us fake Club Monaco and Guess shirts and hoodies from the 16th Ave Flee market, and I had to convince my mom to sew that stupid red thread on the shoulder of the Guess t-shirts to make it look "authentic".
OT, but thinking back, that Flea Market was a treasure trove of good stuff, which I totally didn't appreciate as a kid.

Colecovision had all the best arcade games. Atari graphics were junk. I was jealous of the friend who had the Coleco for sure.
Also, a VCR. I think we were the last family on the planet to get one.

Ya, Calecovision were better for sure. I even have an old one around here, but the graphics chip needs replacing. The stock controllers were ass, though. I've got some of the sweet ones with the huge grip.

What was that service that SEGA had where you could play any of their games?
A friend had that and it was pretty sweet.

Coleco had an Atari adapter, I know because I had games for both. Who wouldn't want to switch between Zaxxon and E.T...or Smurfs Rescue and Raiders of the Lost Ark.
imagine something like that being sold today. PS5, with an Xbox SX adapter. just the lawsuits alone...

What year did you get one? My family was gifted one in 2000.

Coleco games were better, but as the years wore on became impossible to find games for. Zellers had some, and from time to time Canadian Tier.
I was jealous of that wall of selection Atari had.
And sourcing "Adam" games was impossible.

Sega Channel! I remember seeing display models in the store; didn't know anyone who actually had it. I don't remember the cost exactly, other than it seemed to be an obscene (at the time) amount; $20 a month or so?

I think I had graduated high school already. Pretty sad. I remember moving out and it was one of the first things I bought. That beautiful Sony VCR from the Brick. And my Trinitron.

I didn't do it myself, but my parents used to. I think the tapes were even Beta. Big metal suitcase.
