Hope I find time to watch some golf today.

Should be an excellent day. Too bad the LPGA event is tape delayed to the evening for all four rounds.

Damn, I decided to have a lazy day and go all in on golf as both the WGC at the Concession and the Champions tour with Weir leading, looked like great days ahead.

The WGC started off great but then slowly turned into a runaway with no excitement, and then I thought "oh well, on to see Mike Weir hopefully get his first victory since 2007". And he ended up putting in about as unclutch a performance as a guy could on Sunday with the lead.

Feels like a waste when you put that much time in and nothing good happens, but it also sucks when you don't watch and there's a great day with an exciting finish. Gotta watch regularly to catch those days and really enjoy them live.

Canadian Open officially cancelled again this year. Not surprising I suppose.

Rory pretty much shoots himself out of the tournament with a snowman on 18 (his 9th) and +6 on his round so far.

This is Rory in the last 5 years or so. He will backdoor a top 10 with three stellar days after today, but every big tournament he lays an egg in one round, usually early, to take himself out of the tournament.

Well in 2019 he did win four tournaments, including the Players and the FedEx cup.

But agree his majors record in last five years has been a disappointment, particularly due to poor starts. And he hasn't been playing great after the restart.

Maybe it is, but this should give all involved plenty of time to plan a full tour event for this weekend rather then letting it go to waste by a "last minute" cancellation.

It's likely the uncertainty over the border closure more than anything. Who's going to quarantine for two weeks and give up playing in the two events leading up to this one.

For sure, but it's not just "will they be able to have fans by then" these tournaments are months (sometimes all year) in the making in terms of planning and booking and all that.

Mix that with the unknown on travelling to Canada during Covid and its a slam dunk to cancel, unfortunately. I hope they do more Canadian Opens at Hamilton Golf and Country Club. I like it so much more than Glen Abbey. Presents really well on TV, too.

Okay NBC, the 17th is amazing for sure, but let's not make your broadcast a 17th hole live cam.

Why are golf announcers so obsessed with "stopping" Bryson DeChambeau? I mean everyone is playing the same course and has access to the same equipment.

The early Saturday rounds are having some pretty nice rounds. This should be a very promising and exciting day of golf.

What excitement so far. Bryson and Westwood melting down as leaders, bringing all the -10's back into it. Meanwhile Conners is the hot golfer of the day, with a -6 through 13, -10 overall. Maybe a little late, but honestly he just needs to make 3 more birdies and watch the crazy day from the clubhouse. Who knows.
