I like both guys, but hate how bitter Stipe has been since the loss. Soured on him after he said stuff like that he beats DC 9 times out of 10, and that DC won the lottery in the first fight. DC is one of the all-time greats and Stipe isn't showing him enough respect.
Also heard Stipe say in an interview today that he hasn't even watched video of the first fight. Maybe he truly thinks it was only the eye pokes, and that it wasn't that DC exploited a weak spot in his game.
For a while I was thinking that Cormier wins the rematch by decision, but now wouldn't be surprised if he knocked him out again.

Great adjustment by Stipe in the 4th...I had DC up 3-0 before that. He was fighting well.
DC has his gloves off...retirement announcement incoming?

Anyone thinking Poirier has a chance this weekend?
I think he's going to get destroyed.

I'll give him a 30% chance...he's been on a great run (Holloway, Alvarez, Gaethje, Pettis) and I buy his determination and will to do it for his family. He was counted out against Holloway by many but he definitely proved that he is an elite fighter, up there with Ferguson and Khabib at 155. American Top Team is also probably the best MMA gym right now, there's so much success going on with their fighters lately. Dustin's wrestling and takedown defense is a huge unknown though, so I can't pick him as a favorite.
Likely bet is Khabib by decision, but I think Dustin will have his moments and make it closer than most will predict, it won't be a one-sided mauling. And if Dustin knocks him out I won't be completely surprised, I didn't think he would hurt Holloway and push him back the way he did in his last fight but it happened.
I can't wait for this fight. So many things can happen.

Of course Poirier has a chance, we just saw his teammate Masvidal flatline another undefeated wrestler. I think Khabib will likely win but Poirier will give him some serious problems if he slows down at all.

Man, I thought Dustin would come out with more offense from the start. McGregor actually did a better job of defending the takedowns.
Another dominant performance from Khabib.

Got home from vacation and just watched the fight.
Wonder how close Poirier was to locking in the guillotine in Rd 3... Otherwise it wasn't even close.
I hope Ferguson mans up and take a fight with Khabib.

Mans up? He’s never declined Khabib
He declined a fight with Holloway because he wanted to fight Khabib

Except declining the fight meant that Poirier won that opportunity to fight Khabib when Poirier beat Holloway.
If Ferguson had just fought Max he would've had this shot instead.

Can’t imagine why he wouldn’t be interested in an interim title fight...

That division is pretty compelling right now.
I'd like to see Khabib/Ferguson and McGregor/Gaethje then have the winners and losers fight.

Tony deserved the shot at Khabib first, but that's not how Dana or the UFC operates, and he of all people should know this best.

Agreed, except I don't know if McGregor has the motivation to fight anymore. Well, besides for defenseless old men in pubs.

Anyone else see the Mike Davis prelim? I can't believe the coaches let that continue and really feel for that Griffin kid. I agree with Bisping that the fight ought to have been stopped (although I don't think the ref should have been the one to make that call).

Absolutely should have been stopped IMO. That was rough watching him face plant after getting KOed

If you're gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough...
Guess jesus didn't like him either.
Also, how Pena lost that decision is crazy.

I was disgusted gotta feel bad for him. He strongly had the first two rounds IMO. It does show that you can never trust the score card. Gotta give it your all every round.

The kid’s father was one of his cornermen too. Can’t believe they didn’t stop that
That was really hard to watch, he didn’t look UFC-caliber at all. And got dominated by a guy who took the fight on a weeks notice.
As for the main event, it was nice to see Joanna get back into title contention.
