Lets see, massive real estate company with a charity front. Tries to attract celebrities to speak about their cause and help them fund raise. Has huge religious like ceremonies and tries to recruit young children to become their zealots? Has a poverty porn division where people will pay tons of money to live in luxury, mingle with the poor for photo ops and pretend to do some meaningful work for a few minutes. A somewhat abusive founder (pair of) that berates their workers/volunteers.

The only thing missing is the Sea Org component.

Yeah

Spoiler!

I would bet we dont even know the half of it.

These guys profited handsomely from running a scam charity. And you want to know where a giant chunk of that cash came from?

Grieving parents and our Governments and School Boards.

The IRS is a lot of things....most of them bad. But 'doggedly persistent' is on that list.

They defrauded a guy over donations in the name of his dead son. I struggle to think of lower depths to which a 'charity' could sink.

Conditions are ripening for an election sooner rather than later. Along with the news of 1 million vaccines coming in this week, the GDP numbers look not too pessimistic:

https://www.ctvnews.ca/business/afte...owth-1.5329769

So overall, Canada remains in an enviable position in the G7 as only the US fared significantly better. France -9%, UK -10%, and Italy -9.2% were all much harder hit.

Agreed. But the crooked Trudeau govt will never let it come to light. Just like Norman, SNC etc. This is by far the most corrupt government Canada has ever seen. And we haven't even started exposing the COVID contracts yet.

No doubt this has been an awfully, crooked government. It is constantly amazing and embarrassing that not a single worthwhile opponent has been able to materialize and capitalize on this filth. But, looking at the field, I dont see anything really worth my vote.

The sad thing is that the Libs are charging headlong into an election, they'll force a confidence vote on the budget if they release it. They'll get a majority, and they'll kill every single investigation that is ongoing with this government.

That's on the Cons to, I expect a majority government and four more years of an incredibly destructive Justin Trudeau with unlimited taxation and spending powers.

I mean what's another payout between buddies, but SNC Lavalin just got another sole source contract for $150 million dollars for field hospitals that we likely won't need, and no surprise there's no completion date.

This is a company that shouldn't receive any government contracts due to the investigations into their dealings.

Agreed. I no longer vote provincially or federally. I don't vote provincially because I really can't back the NDP or UCP under Kenney. I don't vote federally because as a western Canadian it really doesn't matter. Its a lost vote anyways. Whatever Toronto and Quebec want they get.

I'm going to vote on a local level for MP, MLA, period, whichever one shows up a my doorstep with either a box of cash, or able to explain to me the crap show that is Canadian politics will probably get my vote.

From Municipal, to Provincial to Federal, all levels of government are an outright corrupt, incompetent joke.

Federal Government is going to intervene in the Line 5 dispute. Will be interesting to see what they do, nafta challenges, sanctions, Court Challenges.

I mean this has been known for a long time by the government of Canada, Shouldn't they just accept the will and promises of the US government?

It doesn’t state anywhere in the article that they will intervene. It says they’d be willing to if necessary, but their preference would be for the company and state governments to resolve the matter. How likely this ends up happening is reliant on the federal government’s definition of “if necessary”.

It affects Ontario and Quebec...of course they will intervene.

Save the day and then call an election.

Ha ha ha this is hilarious as they already paid SNC $26 million despite no requests from any province for the mobile health units nor any delivery timetable. I'm willing to bet they get most of that money, nothing ever comes out of this, and the project just disappears with the money. I suppose I can't blame them as the Liberals realize the vast majority of Canadians don't care if SNC is being treated like a Crown Corporation. Shame on us really.

What kind of dirt does SNC Lavalin have on these guys?

Are they trying to set a records for "Most Concurrent Scandals while Maintaining Office?"

Because if they are, I think they knocked it out of the park already and they can give it a rest.

I think we should seriously consider reducing some of the voting power of Quebec and Ontario if they keep electing these clowns.

Then I look at BC...Us....none of us really should be allowed to elect anyone.

But...the Federal Government wouldnt get into a whole Conflict of Interest problem would they?
