Should have.

Brodie can skate and can make a good first pass via a back hand off his off side.

Tanev has always been a better shot blocker and physical presence.

Tanev has the edge IMO because his hockey IQ is just miles ahead. He reads plays much more in advance.

Sportsnet...did they show or mention the shots on goal even once? What happened to the shots on goal under the score? Not sure they even mentioned it during the intermission.

Actually he tried this 3 times. He either had the puck poked away or fanned so he had to chase it to the corner and curl back. He did try it tho unsuccessfully.

Really like having a goalie who doesn't give me heart palpitations

Couldn't afford to display it, so they've deemed it no longer worth tracking. An irrelevant stat!

I like how after the third goal, you could tell that they were playing to get get Markstrom the shutout.

Markstrom was definitely the star and I hope getting shutout early in the season, and especially against his old team, gives him a lot of confidence going forward.

Really? i can see why Hughes was a close second, and could have won it.. but hey, base your opinion on this year, the one game you have seen, instead of last year when he was up for the Calder lol

O #### we got a live one !!!! After a Canucks loss even.

I've watched 3 games this year for Canucks and he hasn't been great.

I have to say. Hoglander looked good tonight despite not getting on the scoreboard. It looks like he will be a player to watch.

I admittedly haven't seen a lot of Hughes.
I've seen quite a bit of Makar though, and he has really impressed.

Yeah, if he (and his line overall) continues to struggle at even strength being an elite PP specialist is a great way to make up for it

I'm not saying Makar didn't impress, but that statement you made, would give the impression that Hughes didn't, and that is far from the truth

Nope, Flames fan for 35 years, just could never understand the extreme swings people have on players, I'd chime in on Monahan and Gaudreau, but i don't feel like arguing with half the people here when they swing from one absolute to the other, 100% fan of the game itself

Man, Dave is such a character. It sucks that he never became an elite goalie.

Anyway, I would hope that he would be happy for Flames wins, so I don't like this meme...
