I'm definitely not watching, but it seems like their banter is pretty horrible.

Looks like the ppv stream is a complete disaster. No on is able to watch on apps, or purchases, so they've put it out for free at

Yeah if there was some kind of BAC minimum for each like say three holes (so like 0.04 after 3, 0.08 after 6 etc...), then this thing could be fun.

I can guarantee any awful commentary between the two is on Tiger... Phil knows how to yap and generally does it well, but Tiger is just awkward.

Phil needs to spice things up by asking Tiger if he's been to Perkins recently.

I just read a summary so far on ESPN and this sounds horrible. Not very good golf and really just a sideshow about betting.

Phil dominating the side bets of course, that's what this whole thing should probably be is prop bets every shot.

Tiger chips in on 17 to send the match to 18 AS. Tiebreaker should go to Phil winning the prop bet portion.

Maybe they should have started the match earlier? It’s dark.

They do have lights on standby if need be.

Im pretty surprised how much Phil talks about the round. Tiger is pretty quiet and keeps to himself while Phil is constantly going over detail.

I like how Phil conceded Tiger’s 6 footer because he didn’t want to win on a missed putt in the dark and then won the next hole. That was actually fun!

I thought it ended up being half decent, thanks mostly to the last 5 holes, but also because it was an inside look at how these two make their way through a tournament round- Phil being strategic and going over every detail while Tiger progressively keeps to himsef as the round goes on. I know it was easy for people to be cynical about it, with both players (likely) past their prime and could probably burn 9mil without losing any sleep. Even so, not sure there are two other names in golf that would be a better draw for both casual and serious fans. Im a fan of both, but glad Mickelson won- was getting the feeling he had prepared for it more and perhaps wanted it a little more too.

Still not entirely sure what happened with the ppv stream and why it was suddenly free on BR, but glad it was. Not sure why it needed to be ppv to begin with- couldnt they have made the pot something like 5 mil and just had the networks bid on the event? Guaranteed this would have been a big event on network tv.

So it looks like Turner will have just paid Phil out of their own pocket for this as they’ll have made zero revenue on this. Kinda crazy but kudos to them for showing it to everyone instead of no one and taking the hit.
