The ACO has so far received 75 applications for entry into the 87th running of the 24h Le Mans.

The ACO only accepts 60 entries and they released the 42 automatic entries today.

Always like Sebring, but good god that surface is in bad shape. Bumps can be good for spectators, but it looks like the entire thing is run on rumble strips.

Also read that one of the Project 1 991RSR's was completely destroyed in a fire during testing. They're hoping they can get a replacement before the weekend.

CNBC supposedly airs the first few hours of the IMSA race and then an NBC/CNBC sports channel picks it up. Now and then (eg, Le Mans and Daytona), Discovery Velocity in Canada picks up the feed, but I don't see any racing on their schedule this weekend. It's just as well, the NBC broadcasters aren't very good. Check out IMSA.TV for a stream.

You will have to stream the WEC race or wait until WEC puts the race up on their Youtube page.

Happy birthday to the Porsche 917. Today, the iconic racing car is 50 years old.
The 917, with its fabulous flat 12, defines a race car for me.

Some good news: FIA WEC have lifted the geo-blocking for the 1000 mile race.

Holy crap. That is incredible work by Project 1. The amount of work required is stunning to get a chassis ready for racing.

Would be great to see them get a good finish tonight!

The Toyotas are simply in a different dimension. At Sebring, though, The Privateer LMP1s had a chance to compete, but they all had their issues and Sebring proved to be too much of a car-breaker for LMP1. SMP #11 had a puncture early but the rest of the race was smooth for them Rebellion Racing had a terrible race.

Jackie Chan Racing finished P1 in LMP2.

As usual, GTE PRO was the most competitive and carries all of the excitement of WEC racing. Porsche #91 stole the race from BMW #81 during the last pit stop. BMW needed an extra splash of fuel on top of tire change and that was enough to allow Porsche #91 to leave the pits in P1. It was shaping up to be a fantastic finish but an LMP2 crashed into the wall, bringing out the yellow and the safety car. The track officials couldn't get the mess cleaned up in time so the race ended under caution. The Ford Gt #67 were leading much of the race, and then they weren't I don't know what happened. They finished P3. The Ferraris did better than expected while Aston and Corvette fell below expectations.

In the GTE AM, Patrick Dempsey's Porsche #77 finished first. The Project 1 team did very well, all things considered, and were in P1 at various stages of the race. There was a controversial collision with a Ferrari (P2) that dropped Project 1 down to P3. Aston Martin had their issues here, too. It looked like they left parts of their diffuser all over the track.

With 90 minutes to go in the IMSA race, Katherine Legge has the 57 Acura in P1 with a Merc close behind.

There are tight races in the other classes as well, with just seconds separating the podium positions.

Use a Euro VPN to view IMSA.tv stream.

The California 8 hours is on now. This is the next race in the Intercontinental GT Challenge and is at Laguna Seca. The live stream is here:

https://www.intercontinentalgtchallenge.com/live

The race started at 0930 so plenty of racing left.

This 6hr Spa race weather is crazy. Opened to snow this morning, then sun, then rain/sleet, then sun, and now hail. It's a balmy 3C there right now.

Rather entertaining last hour that I've watched. About 90min left.
