Bowey and a 2nd...that feels expensive.

Guess there aren't really any rental d-man on the market though so they could charge a premium.

Bowey is a guy I hoped the Flames would snag with one of their two late 1st rounders in 2013. I guess he hasn't come along as well as I'd thought. 23 already and just a depth Dman in the NHL so far.

The defenceman rental market is quite different from the forward market this year.

Jensen was the best rental d-man available from the sellers and the rest of the market is shallow.

For rentals the next best d-men on the market mentioned in trade rumors and speculation recently are McQuaid and Nemeth.

I was referring to the market in general. I know there are a lot more forwards to pick from this season. Definitely true that there aren't many D options. Lots of the pending UFA options for D are on the best team in the league.
