Why would Ottawa want career AHLers?

Traded to tonight's opposing team. Most convenient trade, ever.
I wonder if he gets to park in his old parking spot at the arena .

I am fairly confident that you can't pay other teams contracts for them. That would open up some very interesting trades and tampering going forward

You hang up the phone then.
I'd go as high as Dube, Mangiapane and 2 x 1sts (one of which is conditional) but Bennett and Kylington are assets I have no interest in parting with.

If there were NHL players coming back to Ottawa I would be inclined to think Melnyk waited to make this trade today so Columbus would have paid to get the players to Ottawa.

Or maybe, it was a
"Who are we playing tonight? Columbus?"
"Hey Columbus, since you are gonna be in town tonight, could you take Matt with you? Okay, thanks!

Glad we didn’t get Duchesne at any price. He didn’t seem to help the last two stops he was in.

Is that seriously the quality of prospects?
That's nothing. Half the people here were saying Kylington and Dube would be gone.

I'd swap Foo with Phillips for more accuracy but yeah that's pretty close.
As well, Columbus's firsts are much better than Calgary's would be in all likelihood.

Absolutely no, would rather try to sign him in the off season then. Both Bennett and Kylington are a no go for me

So it was "let's make a deal" with who we are playing. Ottawa/CLB that hard up preferring to save on travel expenses or something
I would have to think Ottawa and CLB would have received a much better package going either way. Bit of a dumb trade.

Let's hope so. They can do the same thing with their next opponent too.

I feel like Dube is SO overrated on this website. Mangiapane is better. Kylington? Man- that’s a great player. Might need more defensive depth in playoffs too but don’t forget that Mike Stone is coming back soon too. Nonetheless I do think that playoffs you need dmen because you can count on injuries.
I know you gotta give to get but id have reservations about Kylington plus a first. I might be inclined to keep what we have.

You almost get the feeling that if Stone is going to be a Flame at all, it will be announced tomorrow when the Flames land in Ottawa. Logistics should be near the bottom of the list when consummating a trade but it’s moved up a couple spots in Ottawa with today’s trade and may be furthered tomorrow.
Shades of Tonelli in 1986 and the Flames/Isles.
And, it gives the Ottawa fans an instant chance to say thanks to the player.

Spencer Foo is 24 and not a prospect. He is not comparable to Abramov at all.

They are comparable in that both have unusual names.
I pity the Foo who trades for Abramov.

Foo is a second year pro on his ELC with 0.57 PPG in the AHL and 2 goals in 4 NHL games. He is a prospect.
And I never said he is comparable to Abramov. He's comparable to Julius Bergman.
Emilio Pettersson and Philip Sveningsson are very much Abramov comparables otoh.

Though you could sign, and then trade with retained salary and achieve the same result.
