glad to see a conference rival weakened, and glad to see any non-Tampa eastern team get better

That first rounder is likely bottom 5 maybe even bottom 2. If that is the feature piece in a deal, how do you sweeten the pot with other assets? When potentially the teams you are bidding against have higher first round picks? Add the 3rd this year? The 2nd next year?

I love me some trade deadline hype, but im scared about the price.
As long as Valimaki, Kylington and Andersson are all still Flames by the end of the TDL I'll be happy.

Under the right circumstances any of the other prospects I could understand moving, as well as our picks, but not those three.

Over the last four seasons he has a 163 points in 290 games, that's including this down year. That's a pro-rated 46 points over 82 games.

There are only 6 teams in the NHL who have 6 or more NHL forwards on-pace for 47+ points (pro-rated). Calgary is not one of them.

If he's on your fourth line, you'd be a completely stacked team. If he was your 6th forward, you wouldn't be in terrible shape.

Coyle plays with an edge to his game, Boston will like that.

^ I’m not sure that is true. It’s been a complaint about Coyle for a long time. For a big guy he doesn’t use his size to intimidate. Ive always read that he lacks an edge.
