What's the deal with the pop up ads now?

Is this something on my end or is everyone seeing this? Trying to view the forum on google Chrome on my pixel 2 Xl and I get pop up ads that won't even let me click anything on the forum to read etc until I click the ads. Any thoughts?

The ads on my desktop are normal, but the ones on my phone have been popping up vertically down the middle of the screen. Sometimes, not always.

Mine too. I'm ingognito on Chrome and that seems to have stopped them?

When I browse normally on my phone the pop up appears and I can't click links, just the pop up.

Desktop is fine.

You are not alone. I've been seeing it for about a day now on my mobile device. Usually if I refresh the page 2 or 3 times it will make the ad go away but periodically upon reload the ad comes back.

I seriously can’t even read the original post because of the big vertical Air Canada ad sitting in the middle of my screen. Refreshing does nothing...

One thing which seems to help (posted in help forum) is to select 'desktop site' in Google chrome settings

Me too. It’s Hampering my ability to click threads toward the top of the first page as well. REALLY annoying.

The ads I see are for Air Canada. I blame them.

Seriously though, is there a way to fix this?

I didn't notice it until I opened this thread. If it happens a refresh seems to make it go away for the page in reading.

I think Bingo mentioned in Help/Suggestion thread that he had gotten the bug fixed, but it doesn't look that way yet.

I use Firefox focus on my iPhone which seems to work great for blocking pop up ads.

Those ads are definitely a problem when using Safari on my iPhone. As others have said CP is essentially unusable.

If you’re using phone you might want to try going to the bottom left and changing the style. I changed it from 2 to 2a and it stopped the ad spam for me. It does make the site have a pink background but not too big a deal really.

I changed the 2a to have the proper background, please post if you're trying the 2a theme and you get the problems with the ads again.

Still got it happening. A refresh can make it go away but not always. That is with 2.

2a seems to have no problems with the ads.
