Looks like Heather Glen is no longer interested in selling the whole course. They may sell the north side of the canal in a few years and become an 18 hole course.

I know VIP golf has been discussed in the past. As another year is upon us and maybe some new opinions... can anyone speak to it? Recommend it? Worth the $500?
Thanks in advance!

I think this is my 5th or 6th year on VIP.
It looks to be a bit better this year, they've added a couple new courses and have better access to the private courses they have signed up. Round prices seem to be a bit better this year.
You can still do better on rates if you find a twilight deal, but VIP allows you to get on the course at a better rate and not have to risk a 6 hour round once it's open to the public.

I liked it but quickly realized I would be golfing alone if I wanted to utilize it since none of the guys I golf with would want to pay the rates when i would get deals. It can be great though.

I have a golfing buddy that has been using it for years and loves it. In his case he has a group of guys that he plays with regularly and recommends you have people to play with on a regular basis before you join.
Crazy thing is he plays VIP golf and is also a member of the Nanton golf club. IIRC he plays on average about 110 rounds a year, which to me is insane

Got fitted and ordered my first ever set of irons yesterday, Ping G410's. My old set is an off the rack that is 13 years old now. I'm stoked for the summer now! It will probably snow until July.....

Where did you get fitted?
When do you get them?

Update:
My fitting was Monday afternoon so the order would have been placed Tuesday morning, they just called and the clubs are in. That is three days from order to delivery which means two days from order to shipment. I'm impressed.

Not sure but was going to ask if they knew when I pick them. I assume Phoenix or do they have a facility in Toronto?

I've heard complaints about getting tee times. Was told VIP only has 12 slots per day per course or something like that.
I don't think I'll be here for the whole golf season so I'm considering VIP instead of a membership.

When I used to be a member some of the good deals/courses filled really quickly so you had to be on the ball.

There were a couple that sold out for if you didn't jump on them the day the bookings opened. I recall D'Arcy Ranch selling out often. But is that any different than booking as a public player?
I never had an issue with the courses I played.
A new thing the past couple years has been last minute sales. I've played Inglewood mid afternoon on a Saturday in July for $29. Depending on how you use the service, it can be quite beneficial.

^ Nice!
I'm 2 weeks away from heading back down to Scottsdale. Only playing 4 rounds, though. 13 rounds sounds like heaven.
