I hate the Red Sox but this seems like an absurdly rash move. They won 108 games last year and a World Series, 3 straight AL East titles, and they fire the guy that got them there. Dave Dombrowski officially let go by the Red Sox.

Pretty shocked when I saw that pop up on twitter. Weird move, and at midnight?

Astros last three games with football-like scores

Won 21-1
Won 15-0
Lost 21-7.

Dave Martinez is an embarrassment to baseball. Challenging a strike call after a player was just hit in the face by a 91 mph baseball? Tool. Classless.

Same guy who everyone thinks has a little Lannister action going on too. Dude's a total creep, and now he's looking at a long prison sentence and then a one-way ticket back to Venezuela.

The 2018-19 Mets are on the verge of having a starting pitcher win back-to-back Cy Young Awards while posting a combined 2.09 ERA and 0.95 WHIP in 414 innings pitched. They have a 27-36 record in his 63 starts. That's an all-time mind-blowing statistical anomaly.

I haven't watched much baseball this year, but I want to see Bochy's last game, home to the Dodgers.

Harper and the Phillies eliminated from the post season by the Nationals. That's gotta feel pretty good if you're part of that team or fan base lol.

At least Harper got his $300 million or whatever. Good for him.

I wonder how much longer Joe Madden lasts in Chicago. They completely imploded down the stretch here. They will always be forever grateful for a World Series, but he has that ability to eventually drive people crazy.

It's also amusing to see the likes of Cleveland, Oakland, and Tampa fight for the Wild Card while Joey Cora and his suck on it Red Sox can barely motivate themselves to be a spoiler right now.

Kind of a weird year for Harper:

- His wRC+ according to fangraphs was 124, 46th in the MLB for qualified hitters, right around Ronald Acuna, Nolan Arenado, Matt Chapman and Tommy Pham. But he is also down from his career wRC+ of 138.
- It was his best year defensively since his rookie season.
- He is 4th in Win Probability Added, right behind Mike Trout.
- 4.4 fWAR which puts him in 27th place.
- attendance is up 30% for the Phillies this year, so not all bad if you're the team owner.

Harper was decent this year but guys like Jean Segura and Odubel Herrera (for multiple reasons) have been pretty disappointing.

Interesting to see his former team the Nationals in the top wild card spot at the moment as well.

Gerrit Cole with most strikeouts in AL since 1977. I know K’s are up but starters don’t pitch the innings they used to. I actually think he could take the Cy Young over Verlander.

Is that guy ever going to get paid this off season.

I’m definitely pulling for the Rays to take out the A’s. But after that, you will be dead to me.

Congrats to the Rays!

As an A's fan.. it's nice to see teams that can't afford to stack themselves with high profile players make the post season and compete with the big teams.
I'm hoping this will be a long Oaktober.

Just watched Will Harris pitch an immaculate inning for the Astros. That is actually rarer than a no-hitter believe it or not. 3K’s on 9 pitches.

Four 100 win teams this season with the Twins joining in the fun. First time ever with that many teams.
