That chair shot tonight on Rhodes by Shawn Spears was absolutely stupid and sloppy.

Other then that, outside of a couple of matches Cody match and the Omega Moxley stuff, it was meh and more of a spot show then anything else.

It did show that maybe there is a weakness in the mid card and under card and good story telling wasn't there.

It was still pretty good, but it didn't match the first PPV or the hype leading up to this event.

Cody said the chair was gimmicked, but still, cant do that today, especially with his position in the company since lower level guys may feel they need to match what the boss does

Watched this morning and the coffin drop was worse imo, ugh that thud

That early 90s wcw product was pretty solid.
I think with some oversight he could be good, he did have a great run in wcw before they started giving every big signing creative vetos

Seems like they got him because he has a history of dealing with execs too so hes the fox guy

At least it's a change

Its great, but they need to keep up their momentum which is hard to do.

That last event in my mind except for a few things wasn't all that well booked or executed.

I'm interested to see what the moves that WWE has done with Easy E and Heyman works out.

I think they booked it like a minor show, which will also be how "Fight for the Fallen" will go down. I'm expecting pretty big things for All Out, so I think that will be the one to judge them on, especially since it'll come on the heels of Summerslam and NXT Takeover, so there will be recent comparables under the new Heyman/Bischoff regime.

In other news, WWE is offering another "buy 1, get 1 free" promotion for Extreme Rules.

Takeover will be its usual strong offering, right now for me, NXT dollar for dollar is one of the best "Promotions" out there.

Match-rating wise it's the best, depending how much stock you put into things like that.

The biggest thing holding it back in my eyes is that there is a lot of work and polish that needs to be done on the talking for some of the better workers.

Just as a fun FYI, the network is playing old Mid Atlantic wrestling on Friday Nights, Its a good chance to watch Super Star Billy Graham, Magnum TA, Nikita Koloff and some other really great names from the past.

I mean I'm watching a Sam Houston (Jake the Snakes brother), some jobber vs the Barbarian and Superstar Billy Graham.

I'm actually surprised at how fast Superstar was when he got going, but the man was massive and this is after he had slimmed down considerately.

NJPW's annual G1 Climax tournament starts tomorrow (today if you're in Calgary) from Dallas, TX. Show starts at 3 PM PT. First hour is usually just filler with tag matches and then hours 2-3 are the tournament matches. Sanda/ZSJ, Ibushi/Kenta (fka Hideo Itami), and Okada/Tanahashi should all be excellent matches.

That attendance in Dallas has to be a disappointment for NJPW. They really only have themselves to blame for deciding to partner with ROH instead of AEW.

Okay, that Ospreay/Archer match was way better than it had any business being.

So I'd give that a 7/10. Ospreay/Archer and Okada/Tanahashi were great. Kenta/Ibushi was a bit of a let down but still good.

rube - you watching on NJPWWorld? If so, is it good quality / easy UI?

Johnny Morrison is done with TNA, that could be a guy that AEW should really go after.

Also, isn't he getting up there in years?

PWI Insider has it posted.

Yeah, he's 39, but he can still go. His wife Taya Valkyrie is still under contract to Impact. Some might remember her from the short lived Lance Storm reality series that followed students at his school here in Calgary. . . Alberta . . . Canada

I had no idea Johnny Mundo was so old. He is a hell of an entertainer that guy.
