As long as they don't also kick their habit of being the bottom-feeder that teams like Boston and Tampa have a habit of losing to!

The Wild getting a point last night in the overtime loss makes it a 4 way tie for ninth place in the western conference. The Predators are pulling away with their win today and are ten points up on ninth place.

The Wild are now in sole possession of ninth place with 69 points in the western conference with their overtime win on Sunday. The Predators with the single point are nine points up on the Wild at 78 points. The Oilers are at 81 now.

After the Flames impressive win vs the reigning Stanley cup champs, I took a look at each team who has a potential of clinching the last playoff spot by comparing the number of games left with how many wins they got in the last same amount of games.

Example:
Flames have 16 games left and in their last 16 game they won 9

VGS:16 games left won 6 out of their last 16
STL: 16 games left won 7 out of their last 16
SEA:17 games left won 8 out of their last 17
MIN: 15 games left won 9 out of their last 15

I excluded NSH and L.A who are playing better than the above teams

Conclusion: Minnesota has a good chance to overtake Vegas for final spot.

I’d love it if Vegas missed and the Flames got in. Hoping for another Oilers-Flames series.
