Not happy about giving up Garland. He is going to have a great year and re-rate really well. But I also have a couple of players on the team in the last year of their deals, and this will allow me to pay them.

Capitals acquire Troy Stecher for Drake Caggiula. Not sure where Troy is going to fit in to the plans but Caggiula wasnt working out for us.

Why.
St Louis gets a young pretty highly rated goalie, at 24 who I can sign long term after this year. He's struggled to start the season in Pittsburgh but worth the gamble.

St Louis trades Dustin Brown to the Sharks for Matts Zucharella or whatever his name is.
Reasoning, one less year on Matts contract, so I don't have to worry about this contract next year. Both players are pretty equivalent. so it shouldn't hurt my bottom 6.

It feels like I keep sabotaging this team in terms of winning as I go into rebuild mode, and I keep winning. On top of it, I couldn't buy a save earlier this season and kept shifting goalies. then MAF comes along and lights it up, then I trade him for Bernier and he lights it up.
Lord love a duck.
I'm enjoying the winning though.

Sharks feel better about heading into a playoff push and hopefully long playoff run with a veteran like Dustin Brown. We hope he can be a force on the 3rd line but also play 2nd line minutes if we need a spark there. Like his CK rating.

Why you ask?
I haven't made a move in forever and am usually among the more active GM's (besides Scorp because that guy never sleeps).
Also, I have some great offensive young D-men, but figure Doughty seems to be bouncing back on a bad Kings team and could use a well rounded top pairing guy for next year.
Doughty also caught Covid so he will be in quarantine until the end of the season.
