I can only respect the guy for doing things his way and only his way, and having a steady group of high end musicians joining him in that venture.

The cast of fellow musicians he has worked with is incredible. I am always amazed at Hoglan's take on music, the video I included is (to me) simply fascinating.

Voivod, now that's a name I haven't heard of for a long time. The first and only time I'd ever heard of them was when they opened for Ozzy here in Calgary back in 2003.

Voted for Lightfoot, Townsend, and Jesse Cook. Cook probably being the most technical IMO.

Alex Lifeson should be on the list purely for the legacy of Rush.

Why is there a picture of Neil Young yet he's not even a choice? Viewing from my phone so maybe I'm missing something.

Neil Young is listed at #5.

Personally, he is my number 1, but I don't know too much about at least half of the ones mentioned.

Not a great fan of Healy and James. Cliche blues riffs are not interesting to me.

Oh ok. I was just looking at the list that you could vote for and he wasn't listed there.

That is part of an Update:

UPDATE: We've compiled your suggestions of our snubs. Vote here for who you think deserves to be on the list. You can vote for as many guitarists as you want.

They are both on the "snubbed - vote in" list.

i totally forgot about Ian Thornley. if you ever get the chance to see Big Wreck, do it. he is absolutely amazing to watch on the guitar live (and the sheer number of guitars that he uses in a single set is incredible)

Surprised there is no Lenny Breau. In Randy Bachman's recent book he discusses how Lenny was seen as a guitar god by him and others in the 60's.

The book is a great read "Randy Bachman's Vinyl Tap"
