Last Resort
Thought I would split out a thread for discussing this series outside of the seasons premieres thread. Great first two episodes so far. Lots of action, and the acting for this show is top notch unlike Revolution.
There are a couple of nitpicky flaws in the show for sure, but overall its one of the more promising series this season.
Hopefully the show gets better, thoughts?

Missed the first 15 minutes of Episode 2 so wasn't quite sure what was going on but it is interesting to date.
Liked how the Russian special forces commandos walked casually upright in a straight line across an open field just begging to be mowed down. They have to fix details like that.

I have watched the pilot and it looked real solid.
I think the situation has lots of options for creating interesting drama. On the island stuff in dissent among the crew, the criminal element, possible stealth incursions, or resupply problems. Off-island missions could be anything really. Then the whole Washington angle with the Admiral, girlfriend, etc.
Haven't seen the second episode yet, but if it gets better:

2nd episode wasn't as good as the pilot, but was half decent.
I will give Shawn Ryan(The Shield) shows every chance in the world to impress, so I'll definitely be watching all the way thru.

Halfway through episode 2, and me thinks they have figured out how to keep it very interesting. Great pace, great storyline, dynamic actors....pretty much has everything you need for a high tension tv show.

I missed the pilot episode. Anybody know where I can watch it? I tried to watch it on line but I keep getting "not available at your location"

I enjoyed this show more than I thought I would. Really good so far, for network TV. I'll be watching more. I can see a few pitfalls they will have to avoid but so far so good.

Finally a show on ABC that isn't a pile of horse crap.
Really liked the pilot. Will watch episode 2 tomorrow and hopefully it can keep up the quality.

It's interesting. It takes a great leap if faith in reasoning (oxymoron?) to accept the premise, but if you accept it, it seems like this might be a pretty solid show. Scott Speedman isn't as terrible as I thought he would be.

Holy crap, I've never heard so many pathetic speeches in my entire life.
Characters, stereotypes, words and actions oscillate between laughable, cringeworthy and pathetic.

I gave up on this show five minutes into the second episode. Horrible acting, terrible show in general.

In other words, you didn't really give it a chance.
I think it has plenty of potential compared to most of the garbage network shows like Revolution & Elementary for example.
Of course it won't compare to the shows on HBO, AMC, Showtime, USA or even FX... but its much better than you're giving credit for IMO.

Off-topic.
Seemed tacky at best. Forget everything in the US having to be remade especially having Watson as a woman, but Lucy Lieu? She's not that smart in real life, acting always comes off as slightly bitchy and not that hot. On top of this Holmes looks like a hobo who seems awfully tortured.
Why can't Americans just watch the BBC Sherlock that's already out set in modern day?

I like the show so far though some of the dialogue is pretty terrible. The main plot line with the Captain/XO, etc. is really good, though the side stuff with the Navy Seal has been extremely weak.

Yeah, the part with the SEAL could have been done a lot better.

Not too mention the barmaid he hangs out with is my least favorite character. I have no interest in her at all, she seems to be there for her looks. They're trying to flush out a storyline and character for her now, but it seems too, uhm, not sure of the word, somewhere between boring, pointless, and contrived. And she's to uninteresting too care about her story.
I did like the episode though, I'll keep this show on the 'to view' list.

I don't mind her character at all, and besides, the idea that a stranded Navy SEAL would hang out with a hot barmaid regardless of her conversational abilities is the most realistic part of the show.
