I just typed out a whole post and lost it. Suffice it to say it was one of the best days I've ever had at Louise.

Had a great day, though torqued something in my back. Good snow though. Was really busy for a Friday.

If you're on the fence, just GO!
This is the best snow/skiing since 2010(?). Every resort has good snow, castle was RIDICULOUS

Taking Monday off and going to head to either Castle or Louise. Think it will be crowded anywhere on a Monday? Super excited!!

It's family day holiday in BC this Monday. So unfortunately I'd guess it'll be busy everywhere.

Friday - it rained lower elevations overnight and they cancelled cat skiing due to avalanche risk. But got a refund and a free day on the hill. Up top it was really great (until wind shut the red chair down in the afternoon).
Hope to go sometime, but probably won't be this winter.

Went to Louise on Monday and actually, it was pretty dead! I think instead of taking Friday off, Monday will be my new ski day. So nice to not have any lines or crowds. Pretty much every run was all wide open space, so I could rip down the hill without worrying about smoking someone.
Even the cafeteria had room to sit during peak hours. Not near as much powder, if any at all, that I was expecting after a big snow fall. But that's ok, I'm a big fan of the groomed runs at Louise. All in all a great day.

That's the problem with Mondays, the hill is going to be tracked out unless something hits Sunday.

Surprisingly the BC family day doesn't bring out crowds from my experience. Was at Kick this past Sunday and it was dead for a weekday, let alone a long weekend Sunday. Lapped Stairway all day with no lineups and there was still soft tracked powder all over the place.
I've done Pano and Kimberly on the BC family day, and even with 50% off for BC locals it's still much quieter on that weekend than it is on AB family day weekend.

Anyone been out to Norquay lately? Thinking of heading there with the kids next week and just wondering what coverage is like. Doesn't seem like they have gotten much snow this winter.

Pictures from someone else on Facebook looked really good (and not just for Norquay) yesterday.

Anyone know if something happened on the Sunshine road on Saturday? We were driving home from Lake Louise, and it seemed very odd there was no one coming out of there to the highway.

Somebody on my Facebook posted that they were doing avalanche control. That was Sunday, but could have been going on before as well.

One of the Sunshine Busses went off piste on the access road and had to be pulled out. Another Sunshine bus broke down on highway 1 Sunday morning between Banff and Sunshine causing another back up. Gondola broke down Sunday afternoon. Snow was great!

Always nice to have a reminder why I avoid Sunshine on a weekend.
Snow was epic at the Lake. Couldn't see a lot on Summit, but that kept the hordes away. I was point and praying down the Whitehorn gullies in testicle tickler pow. Not many others were braving it, but it was so worth it.
