Seems like another easy choice. Cammalleri was a fan favorite, and one of my favs, but Johnny blows him away in stats, and ability to bring fans out of their seats.

Good players have worn this number. Titov, Jokinen, Cammalleri. Gaudreau is the best though

Simard was a semi-goon at a time when the Flames were still good but starting to disappoint. frankly had forgot about him, and definitely forgot he wore 13
Titov probably deserves a little props here- a nice player at a time when the Flames were starting to dwindle. has stuck around town or so the story goes?
Olli was always a bit polarizing but had a solid NHL career
its between the two small skilled wingers- I do think its Johnny pretty easily- he's delivered 'all-star' caliber play for several seasons despite his flaws he is worth the price of admission many nights ...MC may still get a chance with another number, although 13 was his primary

Interesting list, a bit of a debate at least.
Titov was a very nice secondary player for several years, consistently around 20 goals or more. Not a game breaker though.
Cammalleri was very likable, and had some great chemistry with Iggy, but never moved the needle much for the team. Still, I appreciated his one-timer ability.
Ah the enigmatic Olli Jokinen. So much promise, so much left unfulfilled. He was a little better by the end, but a massive disappointment overall. Still, at least he left us some funny gifs.
And then there's Gaudreau. I think his final story is yet to be written, for good or for bad, but nobody can deny how talented and productive he's been since coming into the league. A true superstar. I think he would be the runaway winner if he had a bit more playoff success. I'm still voting for him. Gaudreau is already 11th all time in Flames scoring history. There's no question he's the best of this list.
On a side note, I have ZERO recollection of Martin Simard, and I followed the Flames very close during his brief time in the organization. Does anyone else remember this guy?

I loved Titov - he was a personal favourite at the time. Four some reason I never warmed to Cammaleri. He seemed to score a lot when it didn’t count (biased memory for sure) and had No D at all. Gaudreau is easily the best player on the list.

I really loved Cammy during his time here, but it has to be Gaudreau.

I talked about him a bit above- my recollection is he came up around the same time as Stephane Matteau and sometimes they were even on the same line- so I thought maybe they were comparable type players- but Matteau actually had some promise and didn't suck and Simard was a goon pretty much (although I have no recollection if he could actually fight). hopefully Reg or Bingo or T99 or Browna or someone (who in particularly likely knew him well) can recall and advise
as an interesting aside check out the PIM leaders of the 89 Flames IHL team

Just as a side thought, any chance of posting the winner and 1st runner up for these and going forward? I just thought it might be interesting to see #1 and #2 for each number.

Yeah, vaguely. He was supposed to be like Stephane Matteau. Maybe because we had Simard in the system they felt they could trade Matteau? That didn't work out. Matteau would have been better for us, obviously.

I seriously hovered over Titov for a long time before finally clicking on Johnny. I am still not convinced I voted correctly.

I remember Ed Whalen yelling "TEEETOF" after Titov's goals as only Ed could.

I think you did fine...I like Titov, but in Flames silks Johnny has played 464 games to 345, outscored him at .959 PPG to .661PPG, even plus minus (yes a very gross stat) is pretty close , slight edge to Titov +22 to +19, and while Johnny's teams haven't won much , Titov (who admittedly was very strong in one playoff year particularly) was part of a group that never won a round...
its certainly nice to remember a guy like him though- a very good Flame- top 40 all time in games, goals, assists, points etc

Somewhat surprising that no one in the 11 years of the franchise existence here (actually not sure anyone wore it in Atlanta either) before Simard, wore it. Very superstitious I guess.

Gaudreau all the way…but again some interesting history with some of these players. Two of these #13's had unusual “two-time” stints with the Flames.
The Flames landed Jokinen in a blockbuster trade at the 2009 deadline. Jokinen was that elusive first line centre the Flames had been looking for. The NHL media had the Flames as the "winners" of the trade deadline, and Flames fans were pumped. Less than a year later he was traded away for junk, then oddly resigned as a free agent that summer, leaving many heads scratching. He was wildly inconsistent as a Flame, and his time in Calgary coincided with a frustrating period of under-achievement for the team.
Cammalleri was similarly brought in with a big splash and went on to have two separate stints with the club. He was dynamite in his first stint in 2008-09, posting a career-best 39 goals and 82 points, on one of the league’s best top lines. It earned him a big pay day as a free agent. But his second stint three years later was less productive, with no real team success to speak of. Then, disgustingly, he finished his career as an Oiler…gross!
Fun to reminisce about these guys.

Titov played with Fleury which no doubt helped his stats during the dark days. Pretty good finish. He was Soviet drafted into the Red Army. Didn’t make the team and was handed a rifle for the next 2 years. Somehow made it to the NHL, where he absolutely REFUSED to protect himself out on the ice and was constantly getting run.
I liked him as a player in part because he was the first regular to wear 13.
Voted for Johnny.

So much still to be written about Gaudreau, but I give him the nod.
Martin Simard I don't recall that much about. He was basically a Salt Lake Golden Eagles call-up from that era, one of many plugs.
