One funny thing I remember about this game. There was scheduled fireworks in Vancouver that night and they happened to go off pretty much right after the game ended. I thought there was another Flames fan in North Vancouver that was just trolling Canucks fans.

Forgot about the Brian Burke / Ken King pressbox cam on this too. Burke with a dip in, King then moved in his seat in row behind the Canucks net, just for the 3rd.

Conroy and Rich Sutter in the booth next to them too.

King would always move down there for the third...since the early 2000s

remember when Canuck fans/media were all butt hurt that Ferland put in that last "meaningless" goal

what a bunch of d-bags...if you don't like it and think its so meaningless don't pull your goalie down by two. Also, with the #### those clowns were saying about Ferland I would have been riding my stick back to center ice.

the Flames went with the following lineup for Game 6:

FORWARDS

Johnny Gaudreau - Sean Monahan - Jiri Hudler
Sam Bennett - Mikael Backlund - Joe Colborne
Brandon Bollig - Josh Jooris - Mason Raymond
Micheal Ferland - Matt Stajan - David Jones

DEFENCE

Deryk Engelland - TJ Brodie
Kris Russell - Dennis Wideman
Tyler Wotherspoon - David Schlemko

GOALTENDER

Jonas Hiller
Wow. Ugh. This makes sad in a way. I remember thinking between Johnny, Monny, Sam, Ferland and then Dougie that offseason, that we were absolutely set to be one of the best teams in the league.

That third line tho...good lord.

It was a great series between two not-great playoff teams.
Re watching the game it stands out how incomplete both teams are, plus I couldn't shake the knowledge that the Flames were about to lose 8 of their next 9 playoff games, all to the Ducks. Ouch

What a game! No matter what the future holds at least we have one series win to enjoy in HD.

It’s still such a shock that roster made the playoffs let alone won a series especially after the Gio injury.

How amazing was Brodie? Easily the series MVP. It will be super sad if we never see him in a Flames jersey again.

That Canucks team was absolute garbage as well. How did that team have 100pts that year? It was a slight bounce back post Torts but the team was in the midst of 5 top 10 picks in 6 years.

The Flames has Monahan, Gaudreau elevate to become first liners at 20 and 21 respectively. Their 2012 free agents had career years as both Wideman and Hudler had monster offensive years.

Ferland was the x-factor in the series. A virtual no name before the playoffs put himself on the map with 40 hits in 6 games.
