Can't see them missing now, already battled through poor goaltending, bad puck luck , reffing, some slumping top 6 forwards and still sit in a spot today.

Of course I hope they do and I'm not saying they haven't improved, but they really need to find that mojo and bring their A game consistently
'keep losing" they have like 5 regulation losses in 24 games

I think to make it they will need to land in the top three spots in the division. I can see 2 of Colorado, Nashville or St. Louis taking the wildcards.

Make it? Yes.

Win a game? Maybe.

Win a round? No.

Nashville and St. Louis aren't making it IMO

I have a hard time believing the Flames will miss the playoffs.

I am not overly optimistic that they will make the playoffs, but I said said yes because I think it is slightly more likely that they do make it. Neither result would be shocking though.

I think so, but I think it is a result of LA slipping

It may be close

Moneypuck says their odds are 91.6% so I'll go with that.

90 is probably high but it's definitely in the 75+% range. If you look at the remaining schedule and how they have played the last six weeks then getting to 96 points won't take some crazy record like some seem to think.

On a side note imagine winning the division and getting the Avs in round one lol

Yes, but OT losses count as losses too, especially if they are against teams that are in the race too

The Flames certainly can make the playoffs if:

1. They win half of the remaining games against better teams; and
2. They win the large majority of games against lower teams.

Both the Flames and the Oilers have an easy schedule to end the regular season. EDM plays each of ANA and SJ twice in their final six games. If you extend that out to the final 10 or 12 the Flames might have an even easier schedule.

Everything changes once you make the dance. I have always assumed that playoff teams are pretty even 5 on 5 and success in the playoffs comes down to:

1. Goaltending
2. Special teams
3. Coaching

What is the importance of December 3?

I predict Flames make the playoffs and I hope for an Oilers rematch at some point.

Slightly over .600 hockey gets them to 96 points...playoff line is under that but for Snake sake use that.

Forget about all the teams they all play eachother...9 teams wont get 96+ points. It's really not that complicated...get your points and get in. Flames are below .600 and in a spot 45 games in.

They posted the stats on the broadcast last night using that date. I used that date because someone else did the work.

With Seattle and Vegas losing last night it should be the same today.

No thanks, Flames do not want to repeat last year. Markstrom is worse this year I can see a 4-0 sweep.
