After multiple controversial officiating decisions in Sunday's playoff-shaping game between the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks, multiple executives and coaches said the NFL needs to reevaluate how it chooses and trains its officiating staff for future seasons.
Those same executives and coaches said game officials and the league missed multiple calls that helped key the Seahawks' overtime victory over the Rams that sent Seattle to Saturday's wild-card round and prevented the Detroit Lions from reaching the playoffs.
Even the NFL's competition committee is aware of what one source described to ESPN "as the worst officiated game of the year."
Another team executive not associated with either the Rams or Lions told ESPN there is "a real groundswell of unhappiness with officiating that is much deeper than I've seen and frankly, I haven't seen in this league in years."

I just hope for some close games. On paper we have three big mismatches and three potentially close games, but it could easily end up with six bad games.

Vikings and Giants is the most interesting game.
You got two frauds going at it to be pummelled next week.
How do you got 13-4 and finish with a negative point differential

My picks are
San Francisco to win, Seattle to cover 9.5, and under 42.0
Let's go San Francisco 16 Seattle 12 in a sloppy one. Pete Carroll gets a second look at Purdy and the weather makes the pass and kicking games challenging.
Jacksonville to win and cover and over 47 points
Jags take this 27 to 26..Brandon Staley going for two after the opening drive will get him fired. I'll back the better coach here.
Buffalo to win, Miami to cover 13.5 points and under 43.5.
Buffalo wins 24-13 as Miami gets the back door cover with a meaningless last minute touch down. Buffalo goes thru the motions in the last 20 minutes looking to the next week.
Giants to cover and pull off the upset and under 48 points.
Giants 21 Vikings 20. Brian Daboll and Wink Martindale cook up enough sceme wise to keep Jefferson from killing them and take advantage of a banged up Vikings offensive line to put enough pressure on Cousins to get him off his game.
Bengals to win, Ravens to cover 8.5 points, and under 40.5.
Bengals 14 Ravens 9 as the Ravens defence shows up as they're tired of all the Bengals talking. Sets up the matchup we missed out on for next week.
Buccaneers to win and cover and over 45.5
Bucs 28 Cowboys 27. It seems too predictable that Dallas would have a 20-7 lead at the start of the 4th only to have a Dak pick 6 swing the game and Brady to get the ball with a minute left and no timeouts and get the winning TD as the game ends with the help of some favorable calls. But that's exacted how it goes down.

Niners
Jaguars
Bills
Vikings
Bengals
Cowboys
I was actually thinking Bucs all week, but could see the Cowboys getting a playoff win before going playoff Cowboys mode.

Seahawks getting two third and shorts, ending with two three and outs...yeah this is gonna be ugly.

Well that's the best hope for the Seahawks, their defense is terrible, but if they can force FGs they might have a chance.

I'm not a fan of Seattle but I have enjoyed seeing Geno Smith successful this season. Such an unexpected comeback player in the NFL.

Well that was incredibly conservative there. Offense has two good drives in a row and you basically concede this drive. Why?

Heck of a kick, that was good from 60+.

Purdy looked more like a rookie in that first half then he has all season, bailing out instead of stepping up way too much.
