Meanwhile, former Flames 5th rounder Ryan Francis is 5g 8a 13pts in 22 games for Trois-Rivières Lions.
I remember the big hullabaloo when the Flames passed on signing him.

To be fair a lot of them came from me.
I was really high on Francis and liked his skill set.

His injury must of really set him back.
The majority of people who follow the Q thought that he was going to have a monster season. IIRC his GM came out before the year had started saying that he expected one of the better statisical seasons a Q player had put up in quite some time.
Everything was there but prospects are really a shot in the dark sometimes.

Pretty gutsy win considering they were missing three of their top five scorers, and only dressing four (!) defencemen!

The ECHL is having their All-Star Event in Norfolk VA today, on the same day regular season games are taking place.
The All Star teams are: East (natch) West (yep) Cruisers (huh?) and Destroyers (what?).
Far as I can figure, Matt Marcinew is the Rush representative although I thought he was still up with the Wranglers...

Rapid City pummeled 7-1 by league powerhouse Idaho Steelheads. Lone goalscorer for the Rush is Rory Kerins! Tough night for Chechelev, in net for all 7 goals.
Kerins is down there to get ice time and score goals, so there's that as a takeaway.
