Didn't this happen a couple days ago? Shocking the team hasn't said anything about it yet. Cutting isn't going to happen. Every team would clamor to pick him up. A solid suspension should be levied though.

I'm still shocked he connected that well. Generally one thing pro athletes aren't good at is those surprise hits, and this was definitely that. And he hit a budding star which isn't good from a teammate perspective as things will never be the same. What a jerk.

It definitely helps make their decisions about who they're going to pay and who they're going to play hardball with over the summer.

From the comments Curry and Kerr had, I got the impression that they were pretty pissed off about the tweet from Chris Haynes suggesting that Poole has an attitude problem. The connection is that has been a belief for a long time that Haynes is a media mouthpiece for Green's agent, Klutch Sports. Whether they hold Green responsible for that, or it's just Klutch being Klutch. At some point he's just a headache that's not worth it.

I'm... feeling pretty optimistic about the Raptors. Like not championship optimistic, but #4 seed and second-round optimistic.

My reasoning is that with such low player turnover, they should pick up right where they left off last year with a top 5 defense, and that'll allow the coaching staff to focus on teaching offense this year. Last year they were below average in literally every type of play, and this year it'll be a matter of finding what works offensively for their personnel. Watching for changes in offensive playsets will be the #1 thing I'm watching for early this season.

Beyond the Raptors, I'm most interested in Denver and New Orleans out West, and Cleveland in the East, all teams that could take a big step this year but no guarantees (I'm a Cleveland skeptic, but they'll be worth watching).

I don’t know what to think about the Raptors this year aside from agreeing we’ll be getting the same team more or less as last year. So we’re banking on some big internal development over the off season. On that end I don’t think the team as is, is good enough to compete against the best, but I’m very keen specifically to see if Siakam can gain confidence and be the man. It’s a do or die year for him I’d think.

This year for the Raps is gonna mostly be determined on guys taking that next step. If everyone can play to their potential then they should be real good

I’m excited to see how much improvement we can get from Barnes and Achiuwa. Both have lots of potential for growth, hopefully they can take a big step.

Koloko already looking like a good pick. Definitely looks like he belongs out there. Just need to finish strong on those dunks.

It’s nice to see he is getting rotation minutes already.

Birch & Boucher not being available probably forced their hand but he's definitely rose to the occasion. Excited to see more of him.

This has been a very entertaining game! A couple of really good teams playing at a very high intensity level for a regular season game.

Yeah that was kind of a weird ending, but it's a win. Looked a lot like last year with the starters doing the heavy lifting.

Curious stat from Game 1. It's the second time in NBA history that a starting 5 has all recorded at least 15 points, 1 steal, and 1 made 3 in the same game. The only other time? This exact same starting five, last spring.

Overall it's the 6th time this starting unit has all scored 15+ in a game. The last lineup to do that 6+ times was the seven-seconds-or-less Suns. The Raptors starters did that in just 22 starts together.

It's one of those stats that doesn't necessarily mean much in terms of how good this lineup is, but it does speak to how unusually balanced and versatile these starters are.

Damn. Tough loss. But we kept it close to the end against a contending team. Kyrie just took over in the 4th which was ultimately the deciding factor
