Default Flames miss Monahan

Garbage goal pro
Good point average in the playoffs
Good faceoff percentage
Adds to centre diversity (don't have to play Jarnkrok with Toffoli, can keep together first line)

IMO we are in the 2nd round already with this guy playing.

Flames miss nothing about this season’s version of him, not a single thing.

Jarnkrok was good in game 5, terrible in game 4 and just not good in games 1, 2, and 6.

I wish we had a healthy Monahan.

Sorry to disagree. If moneyhands was playing again the series would have been done in 4 or 5… but Dallas as winners.

Maybe and would be huge maybe would be 2015 moneyhands.

Gaudreau 2021/22 away from Sean shows how high he can potentially go.

Really can see Johnny’s frustration. Love to see his emotion.

I hope that the Flames learn a lesson about letting players decide whether they will play hurt. I agree that a healthy Monahan could be the difference in a series like this.

Monahan was selfish and played injured past the trade deadline.

If there is one thing the Flames miss...its not Monahan haha, he would have got absolutely eaten alive in this series. Slow and not physical. Sure he can win a faceoff in the regular season but do you really think he could against Dallas? This thread is wrong.

Do other players drink some sort of magic face off juice in the playoffs or something?

Love Monahan. Love the guy.

But we do not miss 2021-22 Monahan whatsoever. You'd have to have a very short memory not to acknowledge this.

A combination of the injuries he had to endure over the years played a factor in his play this season. A part of me thinks his career is over and another part hopes his latest surgery will help get him close to the level of play we loved.

Yup, that's it. I'm mining shame from all these knee jerk threads and posts tonight.

Flames are missing 2004 iggy and gelinas. And Suter and roberts from 89. And Harlan look from any year.

The version of Monahan you miss doesn't exist anymore

I miss Monahan not telling the team he was hurt before the trade deadline as he forced the team into the playoffs at $5.75 million under the cap.
