Then both Ontario & Quebec League1 winners (considered "semi-professional") would go into the Eastern pot.
That makes more sense. The whole reason we have this regional based stuff is to accommodate the semi-pro teams, which I really hate.

Damn I was hoping we would move on from Joe Mason.

I'm the opposite, I was hoping we'd keep Mason and give Camargo's spot up

But I won't complain too much, when healthy Camargo is a greater player. He just NEEDS to stay healthy.

What I'd like to see from Mason this year is him playing in a little deeper role, play him in behind one of the other strikers to link up midfield and attack

Glad to see Camargo back. Had heard rumblings he was considering retirement but I'm glad those turned out to be false. He's a good player, just injure too frequently. I think if we can sign another attacking mid that would help the squad immensely.

As for Mason, I'm indifferent to him right now. A 1 year contract means it's on him to show his quality which he has at times but at other times he's been poor.

This means Beckford was the Novak replacement, so in the end I like that signing more as well now that we know Mason is returning. Still think we need another attacking mid, and obviously centre backs as well. I know Tommy talked about upgrading the back line in his recent interview on OneSoccer so curious to see who he brings in.

Finally!

I am selfishly hoping for a road heavy start to the season as it looks like I will be away for lots of May and June for various reasons

It's kind of frustrating to see us bringing everybody back. The team wasn't good enough last year, particularly offensively, and it's the same look for this season? I'm not too happy about that.

Likewise. Was really hoping for some upgrades & fresh blood but it's looking like much the same team. Will be good enough to stay competitive but probably not a true challenger.

I've got a trip planned to Vancouver Island this summer and I'm holding out an unreasonable amount of hope that the Cavs will have an away game line up.

We all know that Pacific has to eat all the Spring/Fall home games due to the weather and hit the road all summer anyway.

Darn, I really like week night games / activities.

Oh well, it is impossible to make a schedule that pleases everyone.

Crap, I can only make one of the Cavs games in Toronto. Just my luck this summer. Will have to make it back for a game or two in Calgary this season!

I have entered the fixtures into my calendar, and I will once again invite all of you to subscribe using your calendar. Same URL as last year, so if you are already subscribed, you should already see the 2023 fixtures.

iCal URL: https://calendar.google.com/calendar...blic/basic.ics

Instead of just clicking and saving, I recommend doing a copy and paste of the URL into your calendar app of choice and it should update automatically as the season progresses, cup games, etc.

I'm a calendar nerd, and I'm not a fan of Stanza, so I always like to create my own. So I might as well share it! If you spot any errors, please let me know.

Canadian Championship bracket is set. Cavalry away at Pacific for the first round, but can host all the way to the final.
