On the plus side Calgary is one point closer to Vegas and Nurse just got himself a raise.

Every goal nurse scores is another tap down on the nails of the Oilers’ salary cap room’s coffin.

Why do I need to see what McDavid was doing on the bench when the goal is scored?

3-point game doesn't matter too much in this case, though.

Because he is a god, an immortal amongst men. The greatest leader ever. Of course we need to watch everything he does, he is the chosen one.

The single vegas got that I don't like. Hopefully the other games end in regulation with the current results.

I saw that. Can we make up a story about Conner not liking Darnell for stealing his thunder on his birthday?

Ol' Darnell seems to have a lot of goal celebrations for a guy with a career high of 11 or 12 goals. Should have seen him after two goals in Arizona- guy thinks he's patty kane.... Arrogance fits the Oilers MO. One goal was a lucky bounce, the second was right at MAF's crest. Pay that man Oil...

We need the Oilers to win just enough to finish out of the playoffs and with the lowest lottery odds possible.

They're not mathematically out of it yet of course, but I think it would take some seriously evil voodoo magic for them to make it at this point.
Not only would they have to go on a crazy run to climb back up the standings, but a few teams like Anaheim, San Jose, Chicago, Calgary, Minny, and Dallas would have to fall out of the race, and I just can't see that happening.

Also Nurse to go on a meaningless stat tear for the last half. Pump that next contract.

I can see the "Oilers confident to climb back in playoff hunt with positive game vs WC leaders" and sentiment repeated and snowballs into something more by the end of the week, so that the parade plans will be back on before they step on the ice again.

Yup, here comes the parade.

This is the great thing about their ####ty record in the first half. A loss is great for their morale and no goodness. A win just pushes their lottery chances out of reach.
No matter what happens everybody outside of Edmonton wins.
