Hell in the presser after the game last night, Gulutzan himself joked about declining the powerplay.

The Flames players weren't obliged to give lighthearted, laughing responses just because the question was silly. If, like Kypreos, the players had been feeling really chastised and had the fear of god instilled in them, they could have given more somber answers indicating that they didn't see it as a laughing matter.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you grade Gulutzans stick throw?

"Sorry, this isn't a laughing matter, he was right and I'm glad he did it"

I suppose that could be a response but I just don't see it.

You don't see it, Nick Kypreos, nearly 500 total NHL games and a Stanley Cup, evidently does. Now whose opinion should I give more weight to....

FWIW, Joel Quenneville is unhappy with the Hawks play, so he tells $55M Brent Seabrook to go sit in the pressbox. That's how you send a serious message.

@MarkLazerus
Brent Seabrook is indeed a healthy scratch tonight. He said Q didn't offer specifics why. "I've just got to be better," he told me

I doubt he'd be laughing no matter what question the reporter asked.

You gotta wonder why Gulutzan didn't throw the stick earlier in the season.

A good coach throws his stick into the stands at the mid-season point.

But a GREAT coach throws his stick into the stands within the first 10 games of the season.

Stick or no stick, fire Gulutzan. If he was a capable coach he'd be catching on our sh**ty power play.

4 wins in a row

against 4 teams that were ahead of them in the standings, and only two of them are (and one of those is by ROWs)
