I'm sure to be in the minority but I don't have much interest in seeing Jagr break any of Howe's records.

In a Flames uniform? Hell yeah!

Yeah, how annoying would it be for an active Calgary Flames player to break the All time games played record this season while wearing our uniform.

What a downer that would be.

Other than Gretzky's point/goal totals, there are no bigger records in the NHL to break. This record is right up there with them in terms of magnitude. Super cool that it's happening with him in a Flames uniform, and I hope it happens on home ice.

I already gambled (and lost) and got tickets to the home game I thought he might break it in. Unfortunately that wont' be the case anymore. But none of us will ever likely see a record like this broken again. No one is touching Gretzky's records, and I doubt this record will be broken again for a very long time.

It's going to be incredibly special to see him break it in Flames' colours. Once in a lifetime-type deal.

Yes, it will be amazing if he breaks the games-played record wearing a Flames uniform.

On a side-note, I am more interested to see if Jagr will ever get to 2000 points. He is 79 points away, so it won't be this year. I hope he has a chance to play on and reach that mark...

I don't recall saying it would be a downer. I am just a Howe fan.

^^^ If he can stay healthy. He may not play that frequently this season since his groin keeps acting up.

I'm doubtful he'll reach the mark if this is his final season.

I didn't mean to downplay anyone else's excitement jut not a big deal to me. I wasn't getting tingly with excitement as Ron Francis got within a season of that mark.

I couldn't name games played leaders in any other major sport.

I hope there's enough peanut butter in Calgary to get him through this most recent injury

Howe played a shorter schedule (typically 70 games) and spent six years in the WHA (419 games).

Is there not 48 games remaining?
Either way, as much as I'd love to see him break the record, I feel like he'll miss more than 10 more games this season. He's missed 15 of the first 34.

Howe's WHA + NHL goal total is higher than Wayne's.

Just saying.

975 regular season goals. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

Jagr is missing a potential 396 games due to 3 lockouts (150 games) and a LOA to the KHL (246 games).

On top of that I think it would be fair to say he could easily have an additional 300+ points to his current NHL total.

Howe also took 3 years off between retiring in Detroit, and playing in Houston.
