Men's side might be less of a mess. Jacobs never recovered from that missed draw on Sunday.

I wonder if this will be the end for the Jacobs foursome, they've had a great run but on the ice they look to me like they need a break. Giving that 3/4 of them are family, are they all in it together forever? There's goIng to be a ton of shake ups in the next couple years, will be very interesting.

So if 2 teams finish tied for third, is there a playoff or do they use a tiebreaker like head to head? Could happen on the men's side if Carruthers wins his last game.

Tie breakers tomorrow morning.
Really awesome to see both Koe and Carey go undefeated thus far and right through to the finals.

Sounds like they use head-to-head to determine position within the playoffs but not to eliminate anybody. So even if Gushue loses he has clinched second because he beat both McEwen and Carruthers.
Could have two tiebreakers tomorrow morning - if Carruthers wins tonight he'll play McEwen in a tiebreaker and if McCarville wins and Jones loses they'd play a tiebreaker.
I'm happy to see Koe at the top. I really don't like Carey for some reason so I'm hoping whoever comes through the women's semi beats her.

What's the deal with Carey? Hard to follow curling down here so happy to see the Calgary rinks do well, but I also like cheering for the good guys. Her rink hasn't been featured much this week, despite being in first.

Which is surprising, given Cathy O's addition to the squad. She's given them a lot of stability. Amy Nixon, her previous third, was a polarizing figure -- not especially likable.
Chelsea's grandfather passed away earlier this week and she was unable to go to the funeral. No doubt, it's been an emotional time and she's channeled that into a perfect run up to this point.

Not sure why Carey irritates me so much. I certainly don't really consider either her or Koe to be "Calgary" teams. Carey fled Manitoba when she couldn't get past Jones and took over an Edmonton team, then when that fell apart after a year moved down to Calgary to take over another team. Koe and Hebert do live here and have for awhile but Laing and Kennedy certainly don't.
If Carey does win, then I'll certainly be cheering for her at the Olympics but I'd rather see Homan, McCarville or Jones as Team Canada.

I'm just curious who they're going to be showing tonight - if McCarville loses to Sweeting the women's playoffs are set and Homan-Jones is just for last rock in the semi-final. Koe and Gushue are locked into their spots as well. They may end up showing Carruthers and Bottcher just because that's the only "meaningful" game left. If McCarville wins I assume TSN will go with the Homan vs. Jones game since a Jones loss would drop her to a tiebreaker.
Edit: on the TSN site they're listing it as Carruthers vs. Bottcher already.

It's like Jones has forgotten how to curl.

Just caught up with the PVR.
Homan curled over 90% compared to 76% for Jones. When your skip is missing, it's tough to recover. Lawes struggled too.
Canada will have two new representatives in the men's and women's fields. Curious to see who makes it with mixed. Morris usually plays with Homan, but if she wins tomorrow, he'll probably pair up with Lawes. They've been a solid duo. Should be a fun competition for qualification.

A bit of a disappointing showing from JJ today. Tomorrow's match-up should be a great one.

Would be a really big surprise if Gushue loses tonight. He has been getting better as the week progresses.

Big steal of two in the eighth end for McEwen. They are playing conservative, but smart.

Surprise Gushue gambled on a low percentage shot for 2.

Sorry Chelsea, you played well but Homan and Miskew are clearly cyborgs sent from the future to win the gold medal. You can't compete with that.

How good was Miskew today? I haven't seen the numbers yet, but she must be close to 100%. Near perfect.
