Exactly. Send the agent, that's why he gets paid so well

It's not about the money. Imagine sitting around with the realization that either you embarrassingly over value yourself, or your employer is trying to rip you off. This and the discussions are not private information, but public information.
That's not a feeling easily washed down with caviar and Moet Chandon.

At the end of the day you want to be shown respect for your work/skill. If your good then you want at least market value in your profession/skill.

I could see Rittich having some limited success in arbitration, albeit nothing concerning for the Flames. At least we know he'll have a contract sorted out.
Bennett, on the other hand, seems like he has a lot to lose going this route given his anemic offensive production and case the Flames would be likely to present against him. Could really sour the relationship here.

Since we don’t know what each is asking for, how do you know who has a better chance in arbitration?

Think the last couple of days have definitely set some ceilings for Bennett:
BOS Heinen - 2 years @ 2.8M AAV // 24 yrs old
2017-18 GP-77 G-16 A-31 PTS-47
2018-19 GP-77 G-11 A-23 PTS-34
LAK Iafallo - 2 years @ 2.45M AAV // 25 yrs old
2017-18 GP-75 G-9 A-16 PTS-25
2018-19 GP-82 G-15 A-18 PTS-33
CGY Bennett // 23 yrs old
2017-18 GP-82 G-11 A-15 PTS-26
2018-19 GP-71 G-13 A-14 PTS-27
All 3 filed for arbitration.

Agreed, between Lehkonen, Armia, and Iafollo, I think you can pretty much pencil Bennett in for between $2.4M and 2.6M.

Looks like the Flyers' Scott Laughton is about to sign for 2x$2.3, so there's another beam laid on the floor.
