Kelley's ability to transition from defence to forward at such a high level makes him unique. On the Flames, Paul Reinhart was often moved back and forth between centre and defence, especially in playoffs. And I've often thought some of the more recent Flames defencemen might have been able to play forward if needed: Bouwmeester and Kylington come to mind. I'm sure Giordano could, but too valuable on defence.
