The road closures are to give Enmax space to repair the line. I didn't hear about anyone getting hurt, but that is the only reason I can think of for ambulances.

As for an excessive amount of cop cars, hanging out at an "emergency" like this is probably more fun than trolling for speeders at rush hour, but who knows.

The powerline fell on the train line and I believe the got wrapped up on the next train passing. Passengers were stuck on the train until power was out and the area deemed safe.

Not excessive at all.

Can we go a day without some kind of delay on the C-Train? Or can the delay at least have the courtesy to occur when I don't need to get home

Is it reasonable to expect that all platforms will be extended to accommodate 4 car trains by the end of 2014? And that Calgary Transit may start deploying 4 car trains by the end of 2014 or early in 2015?

^Yes this may happen. Once the 4 car platforms are finished late this year, there may be (very) limited 4 car service as they may be able to draw a little from the current fleet to provide it.

Once enough new LRVs arrive from the order of 60 that just went through, more 4 car service will be added. That will happen throughout 2015.

The 4 car service will geared so as to be maximized during rush hours and events (hockey, football games, concerts, etc.)

Barlow Max Bell is now under construction, just leaving Zoo, and Bridgeland memorial to start on the NE line.

And, Banff Trail and SAIT remain in the NW and only 39th Ave is left to be done on the South Line.

I wonder if there's still a chance that 39th Ave gets moved (or even turned into two stations). Seems like a final decision would need to be made soon, if it hasn't already.

^It won't be. The platform can be expanded south toward the tunnel. It wouldn't happen unless there's a move to 5 car platforms.

So in 18 months, hopefully there will be 4 car trains for the morning and evening rush hours? Something to hope for at least

To the poor sap that threw up all over himself and fellow passengers on the train and forced evacuation at the 8th ave station. I salute you. That must have been so embarrassing for you, but for me it made my entire morning. I just couldnt help but laugh when i walked past the puke covered window and saw you (through the puke stains) on your knees heaving out more puke onto your stylish black peacoat.

I dont care how terrible of a person this makes me. IT WAS AWESOME

The thought without a doubt crossed my mind but i felt that was taking it just a little to far especially in front of fellow viewers.

The incident happened on my cart i wish i saw it as it happened. I can only assume that everyone was hit with the splatter after seeing the aftermath. Train was packed and it was one of the older ones with the seats facing eachother 4 people to a little square. He was tucked in by the window so i assume his fellow passengers felt the brunt of it, much like the window and his peacoat did.

Seriously guys it was amazing, i pray to god buddy is a poster here and can comment on the fallout.

Just going to ask this, on the off chance that you need to read it in some other words to realize what you are saying. You think that someone who has a medical problem on a train should be fined?

Quote:
All of Calgary’s new buses, starting with 150 to be purchased this year, will come equipped with bike racks, according to a city councillor.

“This is really good news,” Coun. Brian Pincott said Monday, after meeting with transit officials earlier in the day.

Metro reported last September that the 150 new buses Calgary Transit plans to buy in 2014 for a total of $60 million would all come equipped with bike racks, but Pincott said that is now to continue with all future acquisitions, too.

Is there enough garage space for these? Equipping the buses with bike racks will increase the space required for storage. Frinkprof?
