Ridiculous argument.
What arguement did I even make?

That San Diego with a little (more?) luck could have had a better record? I don't think that's even an arguement.

My main point was to bring up the fact that the blown call no longer matters, and my second point is that San Diego may not be as bad as an 8-8 record would indicate. Certainly, they aren't great - they didn't win those games.

2 plays is hardly a large enough sample to tell whether a team is good or not.

Wasn't directed at you as much as the rest of the world who feels that somehow the Chargers deserved to win that game.

Ok. I've always thought "deserved to win" as a phrase to use after a loss isn't very helpful. A team may outplay another team, but that doesn't mean that they "deserve to win." Sports are like that, sometimes the better team doesn't win.

Well, first drive was interesting. Bailey is obviously done which is huge, but the Broncos D stepped up, got some pressure on Rivers and held them to 3. Has to be considered a win from my point of view.

Now they have to put the ball in the end zone.

It will be interesting to see how the Chargers react. I'm pretty sure they all thought this would be a blowout in their favor.

Man, watching this game is brutal. I spent the better part of today trying to figure out how the Broncos could steal Jim Johnson from the Eagles in the offseason and fix this ######ed defence.

The divisional games they lost were key. It sucks losing to Favre and then watching him crap the bed like he did today.
Yup that Thursday nighter really hurt. NE had tied the game in the last minute than choked in OT. They had Favre 3rd and 15 and let him go.

Still a very good season and Brady will be back strong nest year

Such a waste.

Who's to blame? Coaching staff? GM? Something has to be different. How can we put up a defense like that, let alone blew the easy possible division victory in the history of the pro football?

I am mad.

I've never felt true love, until today when the Lions made sure dreams do come true. 0-16 the perfect season, they lost them all. This is better then 16-0, its something special when you go 0-16. Detroit Lions thank you, thanks for the perfect season, thanks for Megatron, thanks for Dan Orlovsky running out of bounds, what a great season.

Or you could be Tampa and give up 31 points at home to the Raiders turning a 9-3 season into 9-7 and out of the playoffs.

Theres scuttlebutt that the recovery hasn't been so well and that another operation may be required and that it's likely he could miss all of next year too. Which will really make the decision on Cassel that much more interesting. Seemed like fans of every team were lamenting what injuries did to their teams this year, there were a lot of key guys miss time.

At least in the AFC West San Diego could sort of pass for a playoff team. They lost a lot of close games this year but their offence can move the ball and they've won a miraculous second lease on life here. Sorry Dis but the Bronco's weren't a playoff team at the end of the year. Injuries helped do them in, but they're still a pretty young team too who are sort of retooling.

And finally Brett Farve, he had 11 good weeks of play in him this year, but he faded really badly down the stretch. He can still play the position well at certain times, but I think he's played a lot of games and that he's no longer up to the challenge of being able to play a full season as a starter and still be effective at the end of the year. Great career, but it's time for that sun to set.

And Black Monday is upon us.

Eric Mangini....FIRED!
Romeo Crennell...FIRED!
Phil Savage....FIRED!
Rod Marinelli...FIRED!
Mike Singeltary...HIRED!

Oh and also, Tony Romo collapses in the shower after the game. Brett "The Golden Boy" Favre is having an MRI on his shoulder, as is his pupil Aaron Rodgers.

Yes!

Team president Jed York made the announcement to the team shortly after the 49ers' 27-24 victory over the Redskins on Sunday. There was already euphoria in the locker room, and the players erupted with cheers after they were told that Singletary would be the coach.

"I think all the guys who are happy today are going to regret it," Singletary quipped.
I'm not sure about a 4 year contract. I think a 3 year would be better for a new coach, at least until you see how the offseason programs work.

Edit: Holy crap, Peter King put the 49ers in his "Fine 15". I don't think that is warranted, but it is a nice tip of the hat for the recent turnaround; but a turnaround is easy when there aren't any expectations. Let's see what happens next.
