Niners can beat a bad defense or a mediocre defense, but just not enough weapons to scare a good defense. Although this has been a #### game plan from Shanahan, Seahawks are great against the run and all but McCaffrey is still your best playmaker so he needs more than the 11 touches he has so far.

Well they are pretty injured. I don't think any other team in the FS would have overcome this list of injuries better than they have.

That could be a backbreaker. Tipped pass, not even Purdy's fault, after he led a great drive.

Now need to take care of the football here, absolutely crucial to make this at worst a couple minutes off the clock and a punt.

Just when you think Darnold might have settled down he has to rattle the nerves.

A few ass clenching moments from Darnold and that ugly missed TD, but otherwise a pretty low risk game overall and a fairly comfortable win it looks like. But against better defenses he's gonna need to throw more higher risk stuff to win those games.

I wouldn't have hated going for it that time if it was a true 4th and 1 but as they're saying it's 1.5 and that's tough.

EDIT: uhhhhh OK what the #### was that Myers. That is brutal. I guess at least it's deep in their territory, just desperately need to kill clock here.

Honestly better that he missed, should have gone anyway to close it out but pinning them deep is good when they need two scores.

That extra 5 yards mattered there...should have called timeout

I actually think Myers would prefer the extra 5 yards of room, generally - it's weird kicking from in tight.

The defense has to keep them inbounds if they're going to complete passes. Runs outside are fine, just nobody catching passes on the sidelines.

Absolute dominance by a defense making a statement going into the postseason.

Assuming the easy missed TD is scored and they add the two missed FGs and that's basically the blueprint for the Seahawks offense. 24-27 points a game and they are gonna be tough to beat.

Solid solid solid from Seattle. Suffocating defense, efficient from Darnold and solid running game.

Now home all the way which is the only way the Seahawks will get anywhere.

Have to say that the Seahawks defence really showed up for this one. Even with all the lost points by the offence they never let up.

I mean... look at their road record. I wouldn't have put it past them to get places even as the 5 seed.

I actually think the defense is sort of underrated, even now, because of the counting stats. They're still great statistically but they had so many games that were over in the first half early in the year, and were perfectly willing to concede yards and points to kill the 2nd half clock that would have been much lower scoring for their opposition if the games hadn't been blowouts. Hard to say they're better than the LOB years but they're probably more balanced than those defenses were.

Yeah I think the Seahawks would’ve been fine next week but then back to SF or off to Chicago or Philly and then some cold weather which Seattle hasn’t faced even with their good road record.

That said with SF and the Rams as 5 and 6 seed there’s an excellent chance the Rams or SF are the next opponent for Seattle.

SF will be out during Wild Card weekend. It doesn't matter who the opponent is they will lose.
