Based on Craig Button's comments, I am certain Barkov is the guys we want (assuming we don't win the lottery). That's how we guessed about the Jankowski pick - Craig singing his praises was a clear insight into his brother's take...

If our pick is out of Mackinnon/Drouin/Barkov/Lindholm/Monahan range, do you think we try to trade up with our 3 first round picks/roster players?

I hope so. We need one of those centers.

Not necessarily. Button rated Teräväinen much higher than he really went too.

The way we are playing the conversation needs to shift to Lindholm vs Nurse vs Monahan.

I think it's looking more like Nurse/Zadorov/Nichushkin territory since we might miss out on Lindholm/Monahan

If the flames are relegated to Nichushkin, he may end up being one hell of a consolation prize. If they somehow got one of the coveted meanstreak dmen along with him, I would be pretty happy.

At this rate, we'd be lucky if Nichushkin is still available.

Realistically how high can we finish here? I predicted 3 wins in the last 6, but we're gonna have that halfway through.

Detroit is the highest we could catch if we win all 4 and they lose all 4.

That would put us in the 13th pick. Detroit, Dallas and Phoenix would all be longshots to pass

Realistically 10th if they stay hot - if we win tonight we will be 2 points out of the 10th overall pick.

Starting to think the Flames are under a gypsy curse.

Last year's garbage time run annoyed me, but whatever, it was 11th to 14th. This year's garbage time run pisses me off, because it was elite player to 7th-9th.

Well the Flames great play may cost them the PIT pick to move up if they want one of the big 4/big 5.

If we go to 7th or 8th, and it only costs us that pick plus the Pitt pick to move into 4\5 range, I'd be 100% happy with that. Assuming we end up with a center.

There's no way you move up 4 spots at the top of the draft for the 29th/30th pick. If the Flames pick is 7th-9th, maybe all three 1st round picks would get you 3rd or 4th overall.

Couldn't agree more, it churns my stomach seeing these garbage wins down the stretch.

It's looking like that now especially with the win tonight and against Nashville which should eliminate the Flames from picking top 8. This has been the most frustrating stretch of Flames hockey I can ever remember. One would think that the way they are playing they would be cup contenders next season as they are rolling teams that are playing for their playoff lives but we all know that these wins do nothing but set the franchise back years. Sigh.

This is so depressing.

I'd trade all the first round picks just to pick top 5 at this point.
