The Falcon was never a big ship, if you put it in terms of modern navy terms its a customs cutter, not a huge freighter that's meant to carry a lot of cargo.
When you look at the YT-1300 design specs (nerd alert) most of the cargo is carried on the outside and underneath the ship on magnetic latches, its internal cargo space isn't that spectacular, and probably most of it is taken up by engine spaces, hyperdrive and other ships systems.

I consider the Falcon to be more or less 'Winnebago-sized.'

You can see how large the Falcon is scale wise in the first 3 movies when they stand beside it.

If you watch Rebels, the ghost is probably about the same size as the Falcon, they have a small internal cargo bay, but a chunk of space is taken up by a shuttle. They also use the mag locks on the bottom for larger cargo halls.

I would legitimately buy the Millenium Falcon and turn it into my apartment.
I would buy the prop and live in it. No question.
That would be the coolest.
"You live in the Millenium Falcon?"
- "I do indeed. She may not look like much but shes got it where it counts!"

I'd rather live in the Death Star personally, the pick up lines write themselves.
Prepare to feel the power of this fully armed and operational mini bar

I never realized that Falcon's front two chairs look like they are from a space-winnebago

I was thinking the same thing, but I went back and looked at the original cockpit and sure enough winnebago chairs.

The red masked character on the right looks like an Inquisitors armor set from The Old Republic.
