You're only allowed to spell it "tyres" if you've got a British vehicle.

So, how about those winter tyres? On that note, it GMG that I would have been PERFECTLY FINE to have fitted them on November 12th as I had planned instead of doing it early due to what looked like craptacular weather. Then again, my summer rims have been with Calgary Rim Repair getting all the last owner's "park by feel" marks out, so it was a worthwhile decision all the same.

It's actually the original spelling but the British really should retire it. Attire which is where the word originated and tire is the natural offspring as tyre is not a lot different than people that name their kids Jaxon instead of Jackson. It's dumb.

'Tire' is almost exclusively a US and Canada thing. In most Commonwealth nations, it's 'tyre', which is a hell of a lot more countries than use 'tire'.
