I was standing about 10 feet away from him during the mayors speech. The sight of so many people out to support the opening must have been killing him. Curious to see how he can spin it his way. I saw maybe 2 or 3 people with signs against the bridge, an incredibly small minority.
I bet the small minority was there to support it. I'm not sure if there's been a decent poll taken (I'm sure someone will find one) but It wouldn't surprise me if the majority of Calgarians either think the bridge itself is silly or the process of how it was procured was.

I hope this piece of crap falls into the water. What a waste.
(with no one on it, of course)
Wouldn't that make it more of a waste?
I had to work all day, I will probably swing by the bridge tomorrow, hump the side of it and do some Slam Poetry in the middle while showing off my sick arm sleeves.

Bell doesn't really give a #### about the bridge, he's more of a big picture guy concerned with council.
I like the "I'm not going to step foot on this bridge out of protest" crowd. When it' -30 outside and you're walking beside the river and need to cross by foot, I fully expect them to go the long route.
I also think the bridge is going to be very popular in the summer time, especially during city events such as the Folk Festival.
