If it is any consolation to you Troutman. The Texans had a freebie as well. Everyone talking about the franchises first 8-8 season. Was it really?

Sure was. The best record the Texans have had previously was 7-9. It's frustrating that it took so long for them to reach .500 but the future is finally looking promising which is a nice change in scenary.

I think it was. I didn't get to see much of them, but they have done a pretty good job building a nice defense. Mario Williams looks to be worth his lofty draft spot, DeMeco Ryans is a monster. If they could get a consistent running game they will create more issues for their opponents. Another solid draft, another year under their belt and they will be work for any team to play against. Their biggest issue may be that teams should be prepared for them next year.
Then again, I thought that about the Raiders this year.

I'm not saying the Texans havn't improved. They certainly have. But the Jags didn't even try in that game. So are the Texans really a .500 team? I'm sure if the Jags needed to win that game the result would have been differant. Regardless is was a great season for the Texans and they have lots to be excited about for the future.

The Chiefs canned their offense Co-ordinator today. As well as the running backs, Quarterbacks, and Offensive line coaches. Mike Solari, the OC fired, was the offensive line coach under Dick Vermeil. Personally I was hoping that they would offer the OL coaching job back to him. Oh well.

Edit: The QB coach was not fired. It was the WR coach.

Yeah, I read last week that Herm wants to go to a zone blocking scheme similar to what Denver and Shanahan use and that's not Solari's forte. Guy did a good job as O-line coach with a talented line. But I think OC and the aging and downgrading talent of the offence was too tough a task for him.

It was such a "freebie" that the team that "gave up" held them to 16 points and were within one TD of winning the game. That sounds like a damn tough "freebie" to me.
Bengals are equally good at quitting at home or on the road this year. Bitter rival or not that should have been every much the Freebie for the Browns as the Colts were for the Titans.

I hope the Colts end up playing the Titans in the playoffs and get eliminated. That would be hilarious.

Colts -Titans - Collusion?
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22487240/
Did Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans coaches have an under-the-table agreement at the end of last Sunday's game?
Tennessee quarterback Kerry Collins said on WFAN Radio on Thursday that the Titans kneeled at the end of the game Sunday because they knew the Colts wouldn't call a timeout.
If true, the Cleveland Browns could possibly file a grievance alleging collusion, which is against NFL rules. The Browns would have made the playoffs if the Titans had lost.
Where is the outrage? I want suspensions! I want draft picks taken away!

Earliest that could happen is the AFC Championship. Titans would have to beat San Diego and then New England. Titans beating SD, NE, and IND all on the road? I'd bet my house that they wouldn't do that.

I never said it would happen. Just thought it would be funny if it actually did.

What would the Colts gain by not having the Browns in the playoffs?

Possibly. I'm not a fan of the Colts not trying in the final game either. But I think its a stretch to say that the Colts and Titans had a plan to purposely eliminate the Browns from the Playoffs. Maybe the Titans approached the Colts and said pretty please. Nobody will be the wiser.

Whether or not they are better doesn't matter that much as neither is likely to play the Colts and neither is good enough that it should matter to any other team in the AFC which one they would have to play.
