I think they're really good questions. They're not designed to cause harm just to get answers to questions that fans have that they won't get from from Sportsnet reporters as their (the reporters) paycheck comes from Rogers.
FYI: Reimold DFA'd. Strange move to make with rosters expanding in 5 days anyways and Reimold still being under club control.

I guess they figure that Reimold isn't even worth keeping on an expanded roster?

And it frees up a spot on the 40 man roster to add someone you do want to call up but isn't on 40 man.

The Jays are back to .500 for the first time since May.
What a sad, depressing trip it's been for Jays fans.

28-42 in their last 70 games. Take away May and this isn't a very good team, good offense but not much else. Even had they snuck into the playoffs their deficiencies would have been exposed.

The Jays haven't learned yet that you can't buy a Championship if you don't have solid prospect depth or don't go the distance in picking up depth. With all the injuries in the past five years the Jays desperately need to be looking into what other teams are doing to keep their players durability higher.
At least we have NFL / NHL around the corner!

A large part of their injuries could probably be remedied if they stopped playing on turf.

The Orioles made up 17 games on the Jays during this span.

I'm kind of glad they didn't make any moves at the deadline.
I don't think one or two players would have made a difference at this point - they just don't have the depth to compete.

After this year, every other team in the AL East will have won the division at least twice since the Jays last did it.

Further to this, if KC makes the playoffs, Toronto will take over as the longest tenure outside the playoffs.

Maybe. MLB playoffs are really kind of a crapshoot... it takes talent to get to the post-season over a 162 game season but once you're in really anything can happen.
I dunno, I'm at the point where I think maybe they may as well cash in their experienced chips (EE, Bautista, Reyes, Dickey) for as blue a chip batting prospects as they can get. The young arms are basically here (or close) in Sanchez, Stroman, Hutchison, & Norris with a second wave hopefully on the way (Osuna, Smoral, Hoffman) but there are few bluechip bats close (AAA or AA) to ready in the system. If we could get just 1 for each of those guys to go along with Lawrie, Pompey, & Pentecost and spend the next couple of drafts getting NCAA bats with the top picks we could have a team ready to compete with enough actual payroll room to push for contention in a few years.

I don't know. 14 games under .500 since May, but 9 of those 14 are since the deadline. Whether the player or players acquired at the deadline did much to help, the existing players might not have folded like they have if there was at least an appearance that management/ownership tried to improve the team.

I think I'm done with the Jays for the season. I've tried to be supportive but this is too depressing.
