I'm happy to see an Epic Fail once again in Vancouver...And whether or not the elimination goal was due to a debated call, it was not due to officiating that this soft and heartless team found itself in a position that a single bad call could send them to the golf course...they were in a 3-0 hole before tonight's officiating crew even blew a whistle tonight...and they wasted opportunities to finish the game in regulation...their players, coaches, and idiot GM need to look in the mirror to see why an incredibly talented team has been unsuccessful year after year...it won't be a Referee looking back at them.

Just watched the Ward segment on TSN about the "discrepancy on amount of calls"... gimme a break. This notion that two teams should have very similar PP opportunities is a total joke, only because some seem to honestly believe that it should be that way makes it less funny and pretty sad.
The Sharks had more PP's because they were by far the better team overall and drew far more penalties. Both sides had a few dives for sure but I would say a few from either team were given power plays from them, it was not one sided at all.

Out of thanks, but I honestly did not think the Canucks would crap the bed this badly. As far as the penalty discrepancy, Van lost their cool and were very undisciplined for most of the series they earned those calls. The Sedin's can't play tough, when they try they end up butt ending people in the face etc.
By the letter of the law it is a penalty the ref was not wrong. But what I would be annoyed about is that the refs hand did not go up on the hit. Sedin cleared the puck. Ref saw the sharks player hurt (and he was hurt that was no dive), and then blew the whistle.
Bieksa penalty was absolutely from behind. No question.
The Canucks did not get the benefit of the doubt from officials, but they lost that privelage a while ago. I don't feel bad for them.
Schneider was clearly not right. When he didn't start game 1 I guessed it was a lower body injury, but based on this game I'm betting a left arm injury. Schneider couldn't catch the puck. If they choose to trade him now I bet his value is lower. He might not be a choker, the way we view 7, but now the perception is out there.
It's probably clean house time in canuckland. 2 buy outs will be used on Ballard and booth. Coach will get fired. But I bet gillis stays on. Gillis has never hired a coach, so chances are he gets a free pass heading into the "re-tool".
Yes I said re-tool. That's because I bet these owners, like most Canadian owners, won't give up. And they will allow their GM to make desperate moves to stay competitive to keep the sell-out streak alive, forgetting that the Stanley Cup is the only thing their fans really want.
And then suddenly, in 1 year, the whole process starts again.
I also loved Kesler's interview in the second intermission, surprisingly classy considering what he usually says. He's their best player and deserves the C (If he stops diving)
I think you get a game to complain about officiating. You may get a game to complain about puck drops. The two are mutually exclusive. You have 4 games to win a game.
