I had a friend last week trying to convince me to go to a concert, I considered it but decided to pass. He then proceeds to ask what time I'm home, if he could park at my place so he can take a taxi from there to downtown or if I wanted to I could just drive him downtown. F'ing guy, half the reason I decided not to go is because I wanted my evening free. Told him I was busy.

"It really grinds my gears when family/friends ask me for small favors"
Y'all realize you can just say no right? Why penalize an alleged friend/ family member for asking for something?
Though, having your inlaws at your house for 7 straight days does not qualify as a small favor.

Especially when the person who asks is a cheapskate.
"Can you drive me to the airport? I got a discount flight so I need to be there at 11pm on a Tuesday!"
Like...I've got to work the next day. Take a cab.

Pretty sure he's somewhere on the spectrum, just a little dusting of something special.
Oh, he didn't want to park downtown because he just bought a new Nissan Pathfinder, and the drug addicts are out of control. I told him to settle down, people with vehicles worth twice that drive downtown everyday.

At least get a hotel for the last night so I don't have to drive you to the airport first thing on a f-ing Tuesday.

What’s wrong with taking a cab or an Uber? Are they chicken?

I found them super dry and overcooked. Maybe your location is better than the Kensington one.

I used to take people to the airport because I work there so I know where to park, but now that I live further away from them, I make them drive to my company office near the airport and take them from there.
Now my brother and sister-in-law have their kids flying out tomorrow and I'm not doing squat for them because they don't give a #### about anyone else.

I respond to that with No, we are adults.
Worse is someone asking you to help move. No, we are adults.

Drive to the airport? Everyone thinks retired guys have nothing better to do. I frequently mention that when I drove taxi a million years ago it was a $40 trip and I bet it’s double that now.

You know...firing up 'Blue Thunder' costs a fortune.
They didnt exactly build her to be 'fuel efficient.'
Plus I have to pay royalties to Sony.

I ranted about this last year, I don't get this culture of always expecting someone to drive them to the airport. Especially for flights at ungodly hours.
I was in the U.S. 2 weeks ago. Got an Uber to the airport, got an Uber back home. What's the big deal? If you can get a ride and it's convenient for the driver, sure, do it. But making someone get up at 4 AM on their day off to pick you up just so you can save $40-50 is ridiculous.
I'd rather just send them the Uber money than actually pick them up.

Yes. This.
Maybe circumstances can be different like if you live near retired parents who have nothing else to do and dont mind....and you dont mind being in the car with them...(they can be scary drivers) then okay, maybe.
But when I travel I either drive myself there and park it, or cab/Uber it.

There are 2 hotels right at the airport and a metric #### tonne of hotels around the airport that run shuttles.
Pry open your wallet and let everyone sleep in, yourself included.
My wife and I have a 6am flight in a few weeks.
We are staying the night at the Marriot in the airport.

EXACTLY. Which is why they are in my living room for a g-damn WEEK.
As to saying "no", you can only fight so many battles with the wife about her family.
LOL - just found out the sister wants to meet up with her online boyfriend while she's in town and "can he come over one night"?
I'm not getting murdered.
Divorce me over this. I dare you.
